Large Scale Central

Brrrrrrrrrrrr

It could be worse if we weren’t having global warming.

I was hoping to see a warming trend but I must have missed it!

Spent about 3 hours this morning shoveling snow, one 12 inch scoop at a time. Of course, as soon as I finished, it started snowing again. Ralph

Don’t you just hate that. We might get a little snow between now and Wednesday but above freezing by Thursday.

Well we sure aren’t getting lucky like last winter when everything went South. For the third time since Christmas we are in for major snow on Wednesday - The same storm that hit Ralph is combining with another low from the mid-west. Might be tough to get to work on Wednesday.

Still snowing here at 1am after starting about noon. But nothing like some of y’all are getting. Only getting about 4 to 6 inches total it appears.

Overnight: Snow. Low around 20. West wind between 6 and 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Total nighttime snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.

Tuesday: Areas of blowing snow and a chance of snow. Cloudy, with a high near 22. Blustery, with a west northwest wind between 14 and 21 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

At this rate I wont see grass until march sometime. Jon looks like we are in for another major storm with well over a foot for most of NJ, Ct. and parts of NY.

I also broke through the tunnel yesterday. It was completyly filled with packed snow. Talk about a project. I might have to run a large siding that goes around the tunnel. That way if it happens again I have an alternate route.

The snow here was followed up with freezing rain last night. No work again today.
Temps are not expected to go above freezing until this weekend. I’m stuck at home until a plow comes through and clears the road.

Dang, compared to what y’all are getting, we got nothing worth talking about. Don’t have a snow blower but maybe this will help?

Major doom and gloom projected all along the East coast, from DC to Boston. Probably not possible to purchase French Toast ingredients anywhere within a thousand miles  Sending the youngin out for gasoline to power the generator if it come to that.

You might have to settle for oatmeal!

Snow just started in NW Jersey. Temp 22F

just wait. come friday I will be in the 70’s with full sun.

It’s still in the 40s on the High Desert!

Jon,

Thought of you guys yesterday evening when we saw the map of how the pattern of snow is suppose to fall. Hope you get some good pictures. Should be impressive.

I go back to work this morning, though I’m going in late.
It is pretty brutal, 23 degrees and high winds blowing snow everywhere.
At least I’m done shoveling snow…for now.
Ralph

We ended up 6 inches of very fluffy snow out of this storm. Low formed later then planed and was a fast mover. Jon on the other hand might end up with a lot more, 20 inches or more. Thats OK he can have it. LOL. Now we have to deal with the winds blowing the snow around. No pictures of the line Im working the next four days. :frowning:

I got it alright. 20+ on the front sidewalk. I dug out to the road and through the snowbank to the car. Fortunately it’s the light fluffy stuff. Still snowing pretty good. Snow pile at the end of the street is now over 10 feet.

Man, you guys did get the snow!
We ain’t got near your kind of snow, but we do have this, “Light Snow 7 °F (-14 °C) with a high near 11. Wind chill values between -3 and -8.”

We have about a foot so far, and its still coming down like heck.
