Mik,
Looks good.
Jon, I thought you knew that peeling paint is called “weathering”.

We have a gallon of white enamel here someplace, but it takes forever to dry so we need 3 days with no rain…
It’s April, that’s probably too much to ask for.
The bigger Alberta spruce seems to have died as well…
Mik, nice railroad…
Mik its coming along nice.
Today’s photos… I found me a nice stash of rocks. Looks better than landscape timbers

Got some trees moved from the old garden. The were planted too close together before, so they are kind of bald on the back sides

but running out of block. Yes, the ground has dropped away that much. I have a semi-elevated layout

Mik said:You'll just have to build a trestle ;) Looking good. Ralph
but running out of block.
Actually, I just had to go after more. I was told to cart off whatever used or damaged blocks that I needed.
Unfortunately, we came back to find that the pipe from the water heater had busted. At least the mess was outside, but it was too late to do anything but turn the water off and flip the breaker… just what I needed, ANOTHER flipping project!
Okay Mik get the hot water fixed and then i think a trestle is in order as Ralph suggested.
Sure thing guys… if you build it and send it to me…
I don’t own a table saw
I don’t have money in the budget for a table saw
I don’t have the patience to make all those parts.
Curved trestles are an even bigger pita to make than straight ones…

Bringing it to life… The best part! Today was my birfday, so I had the girls here. The 9YO decided we absolutely needed to put out the people… First, we moved the church under the tree…

Then we put out the animals at Giant Gnome Farm…

Then came the schoolyard…

Anybody want a kitten?

I found the WWI Flying Ace at a yard sale for a quarter…

I couldn’t leave Pooh & Co in the box…

And the cookout…

The old geezers made it too…

Simply can’t have a pond without a kid throwing rocks in it…

And it was just a great day for a bicycle ride, or a road trip in a convertible, too…

David Russell said:Aww, thanks! But, 2 feet high? or 2 feet long?......
Always up for a challenge, show me what you want Mik and it better not be bigger than 2' ;)
Was just trying too be nice? …Rather build a bitchass bridge out of steel for dad anyway.
That’s ok… I’m not even sure what radius that last bunch of used curves I got even is… looks like maybe 7 or 8 footers… 8 18" sections is a half circle
Yesterday it was nice before the rains started… today it’s snowing. Kind of hard on the plants. Anyway, you all want pix, not to hear me blather, sooo… Waterfall Mk II

Still working on the high fill at the bottom. Since everybody insisted, I have a couple short Aristo trestle pieces coming, but I still need to get the curves to finish it. (anybody got about 4 sections of R-2 to spare?) The coal mine will go in that big depressed area in the middle

Thats looking really good and you have done a lot in such a short time, especially just moving into a new place. I can wait till the trains start running. What do the neighbors think about it?
Most of the neighbors think it’s great, so does the landlord. Rubberneckers keep trying to get smacked in the behind tho…
Some of this rail desperately need cleaned before anything will run on it… it was beyond grody when I got it years ago from a guy in So Cal, and never used, so never cleaned, either…
I think I overdid it today – just a lil bit… I carted about a cubic yard of dirt, one 5 gallon bucket at a time… moved 2 huge (about 60# each) rocks… And worked on the mine area between trips, as well. Everything hurts and my left knee is swollen up like a soft ball. on the UP side, things are finally starting to look the way I want them to…
