Day 11
Much nicer today and was able to get some painting done, painted the body with satin white on the window area and will mask that off after it dries. Finally decided on a color for the café and it will be “PURPLE”, it’s the favorite color of the owner and think it will look good with white trim and yellow sign. Most of my stuff I weather but was going to leave this one alone but couldn’t resist the kitchen area roof. Guess I better start on the interior but painting will have to be on the back burner as a cold front with rain moves thru here on day 12.

Craig, other than this time the only thing I’ve used the pledge for was to harden up the acrylic paint and it works good for that, might try it as a sub base for my silhouette letters, thanks Bill
I used Future to give a nice shine to the body of a 1:32nd black corvette model I built once. Also it is good for giving a nice shine to model aircraft canopies. I even mixed some with some Tamyia transparent green, to tint the overhead “glass” on a B25 model I made once.
Future is one of those things I have to hide from my mom, or else she uses it for household uses. Future, Bon Ami, blue painters tape, paint mixing cups, candles and glue sticks are on the list of things i have to hide if I wanna keep them.
Day 12
Well the front came thru and it has turned out to be a pretty nice day, got the windows masked up and it hasn’t turned cold yet so I decided to paint and boy is it PURPLE, just plumb pretty. After taking the masking tape off the windows I couldn’t resist an put the sign on the roof and set everything together to see what it was going to look like, boy it’s PURPLE!!! think I will paint the car header white and it will give me a place for signage like open times, days of the week, daily specials, etc. Think once I get the header painted white and the main front door which is white it will all come together. At least it’s a color you don’t see of often, usually it’s the flowers that are PURPLE!!! Wow almost as good as the route of the beavers Pink car

You should’ve painted it purple, Bill (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-surprised.gif). I wouldn’t have chosen purple, but it really looks good. Shows you how much I know (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-sealed.gif). The roof just makes the whole thing though.
I wasn’t overly fond of purple but the lady that owns the café favorite color is purple and when I do buildings in name of some one I try to include something they like, it’s nothing like her real building but a great place to eat, Bill

A base, signage and some type of interior, and matt finish and maybe solar lights see how the interior comes out
day 13 time moves off
Well got the signage almost completed and stored in the silhouette for printing, things like when open, what for made one for the takeout window, + I got the signage strip on the side of the roof painted white so that the signage showed up, looks a lot better. Still waiting on parts to design interior

day 14
well today I got some of the signage done for the front of the building and still not sure why but I had a terrible time with the silhouette letters. Usually use Magic cover shelf liner for the transfer paper because it doesn’t stick real hard to the letters but today it didn’t stick enough to get them off the printing matt. Switched over to the cricut and it was too strong and being as the letters are so small it makes them super hard to work with anyway. Finally got them done after several starts and miss cues finally got them set. I will admit that they are not the straightest in the world but that’s because 3/4 of them were put on 1 at a time instead with the transfer tape, what a pain. I will say that I’m going to get this problem resolved before I do any more printing I suspect it is because the letters are super thin and small. I have some more to put on the from but nothing small and all will be on a backer board. That’s all for Saturday’s fun
This is coming out very nice. I said it before its a unique build. Something you see all over America but something I personally have never seen modeled. And that roof is just very cool.

Lettering looks fine, Bill. They do add that sense of realism to the model. Great work.
Very nice. A diner is on my someday list. This one, drawn by my Grandfather in 1931 was never built (as far as I know)…
