Baldwin Sharknose kit in 1/29th

Hi Guys
Well everything is in stock now apart from the lost wax brass castings, these should be here any day now. I have started to do a build thread on my own kit as I can wait for the castings, they are only the cab steps and air horns.

The thread on here is http://www.largescalecentral.com/LSCForums/viewtopic.php?id=16699 which will take you to the actual build thread on the UK forum which is here http://www.gscalecentral.co.uk/f/m210017.aspx

Many thanks
Rob

I see these are being shipped now. I have one on the way.

Jerry any news? I’ve not heard about teh one I ordered?

They all finally went at the tail end of last week, so I expect them to start arriving at the tail end of this week and perhaps early next week depending on how quick customs at either end process them.
Cheers
Rob

I got my Shark Kit today. Looks very good. The etched grills are at the bottom here, still taped to the board so they would not get bent. I have not un-wrapped them yet.

Looking forward to seeing your finished product Jerry.

I think we need to start planning a “Shark-fest” at the ECLSTS 2013.

I could see one of our sidings on the Delaware Large Scalers filled with sharks or maybe one of the tables near Ric’s timesaver!!!

Yep me too! :)

Fitting the frame in riight now, but other things keep getting in the way. Had to work on the Buick some.

I cut the Aristo FA frame to fit the Shark, but even with it notched out some the trucks were still too far below the Shark. So I used a piece of 1/8" plastic to make a flat frame like the E-8 has, with holes in it for the pivots. That made it sit quite a bit lower. I’m using some E-8 interior parts, cut down to fit, in the cab. Most of the light board will be used also, along with the seats/figure.

Quite a few D&H Shark pictures here, including a good one of the builder’s plate, have to get that made up.

I painted the side frames and the fuel tank and got them mounted.

Hey, Jerry, that is looking GOOD…

tac, ig & The north shore Line Boys

Jerry any further up date on your build and to what road you painted it. How does it run? Later RJS

Waiting on my wife to cut the yellow stripe, for the D&H graphics, on her vinyl cutter, then will tape off the blue and shoot the silver. So, it’s mostly gathering dust.

So your blaming your wife then for the collection of dust??

Hey, I’m about at the same progress on my shark as Jerry. Can I use the same excuse?

That would be cool, “It’s all Jerry’s wife’s fault!” :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Actually I’ve been trying to finish up on my GP-9 Slug/GP-38-2 Mother set. Still need to do all the electronics/QSI Titan instalation.

Keith

Now that’s a lame duck excuse. Hope to see it painted soon. Later RJD

"The last fight was my fault, my wife said 'whats on TV?' I said 'dust', that's when the fight began..."
