Can you translate that to us dollars please.................
Accoding to http://finance.yahoo.com/currency-converter/#from=GBP;to=USD;amt=250 its $393.74 + $70.88 shipping for one or $94.50 for two.

Nice model but way out of my price range.

Agreed Jon, Little to rich for my country bumkin butt…

Considering the amount of work and the custom nature of the project, I was expecting an even higher price.
Even after adding the power blocks, it will still be less than many of the high end locomotives
But I’m also too poor and my RR’s too small :frowning:
Ralph

I didn’t mean to infer that it is overpriced - far from it. It’s a beautiful loco and Rob does great work. Just that I can’t afford it. There are plenty of folks out there buying $3000 locomotives. I’m just not one of them :frowning:

Put me down as a firm order for one Rob. It’ll be nice to work on a different locomotive with out having to do all that work that you did. Good timing here, I’m about done with 2906.

Truly a nice loco but figuring all the extras for trucks and electronics it may be a bit over my price also.ter RJD

You can pick up an Aristo B unit on ebay for not too much. I did anyway.

Rob has my order for 2…now to get back to work on my 3 KM ML4000 kits.

Chuck, please post some in progress pix of your kits. Never did see a finished one, was wondering if anyone ever finished theirs.

Jerry, I sure will!

Here is a thread from one of my first customers http://www.gscalecentral.co.uk/f/tm.aspx?m=73453&high=ml4000 I just bought it back from him for a German guy who was looking for one.
It is also the only one I have ever seen built, I have sold 23 and nobody else has sent any pictures of what they have done. This often the way with kits though I think.

If anyone else is thinking of having a Shark or two then let me know as the list is filling up quickly for the first run.
Cheers
Rob

Thats a nice looking build Rob, he did a great job on it.

Sent in my PM to you Rob … will add this to the list of “someday” projects.

Chas

Double post…sorry.

Hi Shark fans
The first test body turned up yesterday and looks great. Just waiting for Pete to approve it and we can start taking payments and orders.
Here is the link to the thread with some details and pictures:

Thanks again
Rob

Looks good Rob, can’t wait til I get mine.

Update:

I have contacted everyone that has expressed an interest in this kit, plesae get in touch if you haven’t been contacted and want one, also please get in touch to confirm if you either do want one or have changed your mind, it saves a lot of time chasing people up and it means everyone gets their kits a little earlier.

Idealy we want to place the order with the factory next week so if you can please be prompt it would be very much appreciated. If you are still unsure then it might be possible to add another body or two to the order as it is being processed, but there is no guarantee about this so you might miss out.
Thanks again to everyone and I’m looking forward to seeing some sharks running this summer.
Cheers
Rob

Payment sent! There goes ECLSTS in York for me this year guys…Spent my train allowance on this beastie!

Chas

Hi all
I just wanted to say a big thank you to all those folks that hav eplaced their orders for these kits. Can I also ask anyone else that is interested to PLEASE get in touch as I wanted to place the order with the factory by the end of this week.
There will be no spare kits available!!! We are only making kits for people that have ordered them and I would hate for anyone to miss out as they thought they could just get one anytime! so if you want one you will have to let me know and make your payment as soon as you can.
Thanks again
Rob

Rob,
Not that I want one, but aren’t you keeping the tooling for this, the Krause and any other future projects?

Hi John
That is the problem, the tooling is only able to produce so many body castings depending on teh level of surface details and undercuts, plus the mold has a shelf life too so it will start to deteriorate anyway after some time. So after that we are looking at a re-tool and very often the original master is damaged when removing it from the mold a sit it made from several pieces rather than a one piece strong casting like the products, so you have to repair that or use a casting as a master!

Then you also face the isssue of whether there is enough people to justify the high re-tooling costs? This is why I say to folks to get in quick, it isn’t a “hard sell” of “bluff”, it is because some folks might think they can just pick one up at any time, as if it was a R-T-R model mass produced in China! I don’t want anyone to be disapointed or miss out, I know how anoying that can be when that happens.

Cheers
Rob
