Ken,
Have I missed something? I don’t see any “holes” in that building to let the trains in.
Looking good so far.

Thanks Rick. I still have some stuff to move out of the way inside the shed and wanted to get an idea of where the “holes” need to be.
I won’t start on that till I get back from “Purple Heart Veterans” affair in Branson that I’m heading to this week.
Ken, have you experimented with that fencing, to see if it will actually support an inch and a half of dirt and rocks?
There looks to be a kink in the rails on the diverging part of the right switch in h lower picture. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
Real nice. You probably have as much track on that deck as I have in my whole yard. Well, almost.
Must be nice being retired (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)Looks great so far Ken. I still think Im faster then you.
Yes, Steve, I had a small test table sitting outside for 2 years. It’s some heavy duty stuff.
Dave I know, I still have to nail down the track on that section. It’s just lying on top the ladder and still needs the other side of the ladder placed.
I still think Im faster then you.
I would hope so, you’re 30 years younger then me…
Ken,
Great progress. Hope to see in person in July.
Moving along:
We’re now getting down to ground level.
Ken this is going along really nice!
Is the shed powered?
You might want to run some conduit under the layout to bring power to the shed if it’s not already powered.
It would be great to have lights and a way to power a fridge!(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
Nice progress, Ken… Is it done yet??? (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

It’s not powered yet, but it may get powered, if for no other reason then having some battery chargers in there. Although I don’t plan on storing any locos out there.
A fridge??? whydidinI think of that…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

No railroad is ever “Done”, or finished…!!

It looks like the real name for this thread should be: A Raised Road Bed: A build log for the RGS raised, but soon at ground level, layout.(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
Can you reach the inner tracks and lift a heavy object with out leaning on it? That’s usually where my wheels fall off.
Looks great, I’m planning on raising my layout 2 feet.
John
Great progress Ken, Unless I miss my guess, looks like that last shot was taken from the roof? Careful up there, don’t want to fall and break any of those nice buildings!
Are you going to build bench work on the ground, or transition to a different method whe you get there?
You missed your guess, Randy…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
I was standing on top of the layout. From here on out, it will be like what you see in the first picture. The bench work will be about that high, resting on cap blocks.
Looking like most of Delores is ready for scenery. Nice work and updates. Will the structures be attached to the deck or free floating ? (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
