I would expect he ran short on purpose so he can chat with the cashier again. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

It’s been over a year since I started this project and I can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel. With 95% of the track work done and about 50% of the scenery part of it started, I thought a little overview of this thing would be in order.

What remains to be done is mostly getting the rest of the side sills on and more dirt. The curve leading out of Mancos towards Hesperus needs some work, it’s a bit too sharp for my liking. Porter now needs a depot and a few other buildings. Maybe some minor tweaking here or there, but the sawing and hammering are for the most part done. It’s been a lot of fun and a real challenge. Hopefully the maintenance end of this will be a lot less then what I had, which is what I’m shooting for. It did survive a pretty severe blizzard last winter.

(I’m gonna miss that check-out girl at Lowes…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif))

No doubt, my man, no doubt…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Looks great Ken. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Great looking railroad Ken. I’m seriously looking at doing something similar as I’m getting tired of all the weeds and areas on my railroad that are just to hard to reach and work with. Not to mention that my new golden retriever puppy has eaten and destroyed 2 wooden bridges on my layout, which means I need to either rebuild them or fill the areas in before I can run trains again. But that life.

Ran short of 1x3’s (quit snortin, Andy) since I decided to add a siding to the tail end of the Wye.

I thought he quit snortin years ago? Didn’t know he fell off the wagon again!

Thanks, Chuck.

Puppies do that. After 4 yellow lab pups, There’s a few pieces of furniture around here that have been gnawed on over the years.

Got any questions about this method, don’t hesitate to ask. If I can remember why I did it a certain way, I’ll give an answer…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Ken,

Nice work! It’s not easy to set out on a new course…the result is excellent. Your railway has a tremendous amount of operational capabilities for a way-freight engineer. And you have an excellent number of realistic buildings.

Very nice indeed

Thanks Jim. Much appreciated. If I can ever talk Bruce into driving up 95 for an operating session, I’ll invite you up, too, if for no other reason then to give Bruce someone to bitch to about the traffic…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Maybe some time in June…mid week or something. I think we have tickets for Longwood that expire in June, and Jean would like to get back there. Sheesh, June is almost here!

Yup, less then a week away. Mid week is fine, whenever’s convenient for you guys. Bev’s heading out to Oregon with her sister towards the end of June, but that’s the only thing going on at the moment.

Can I come, I will bring the rain!..or the wind and cold weather like when Penny & I stopped by!

Is it done yet?..

Looking good Ken. You made this look way to easy. At this rate you should be able to expand that to my house by end of summer…

I understand now why you want me to come down and bring my lawn chair!

Wow.

You didn’t waste much time. It takes me longer than this just to figure out what I want to do.

Looks good. No more weeding. I like it (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
