Progress looks good. I’ll be interested to see how things look after a heavy rain.
Folks - Check out Ken’s article if you haven’t already. Many more pics and details.

I had about half the Yard done with some dirt I dug up and mixed and it has rained since then. All it seems to do is settle the dirt a bit more, especially between the ties. And it showed some spots where I missed some screen under the table…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
Ken, it looks great! Really like the finished look. Can’t wait to see in person.
Finished up with what was left of the dirt this morning. Can’t do a whole lot more till I finish the loading dock for Mathesons and get some side sills put on.
Starting to look like something now…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
WOW, that makes a world of different in the appearance with the dirt filled in… Loookin good, man… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
This photo really shows off two advantages of raised bench work for photography. Good low vantage point without lying on the ground. 1:1 background blends more realistically - kind of a forced perspective. Very nice shot!
The layout is looking great Ken. The dirt really finishes off the look. I’m glad you decided to document this new layout because I can see the same type in my future with maybe downsizing and knee replacement surgery coming soon. Keep up the good work.
Thanks, Chuck. Like I said, this is one big experiment, but it should eliminate a few of the problems I was having with it being on the ground. I have had the chance to visit a lot of garden layouts over the years, and hopefully I’ve managed to incorporate the better parts of what I’ve seen and liked about a lot of them into what I think will be the best solution for me.
Kudos to you, Ken. It looks great. And it looks like it will drain well in the rains.
Wow! That looks amazing, Ken! The dirt is like icing on the cake. Of course if I made the cake it would most likely taste like dirt! Keep up the great work!
-Kevin.
Placed most of the side sill in Delores and added a loading dock to the cold storage building.
Are you going to add a roof to that loading dock? Or doesn’t the cold storage place ship and receive when it rains?
Nice, Ken… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)
