That will get a peaked roof attached to it and a shed roof extending out over the track going into the building. I already have a removable door inside the shed, and I haven’t decided to make something to look like doors or just leave it as is.
I like the shed roof idea - that will pretty much hide everything anyway.
Sounds like you already have something that works.
I haven’t had a chance to get a whole lot done lately since the weather, events and life-in-general has gotten in the way, but I did get a bit done on the facade.
I thought at first that it might overwhelm the scene until I realized a lot of those old mine buildings and structures were pretty overwhelming.
I think it looks fine and it hides the crooked hole that you cut!
Nice progress! Better buy a case of T-shirts if you plan on continuing work over the next few weeks (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-surprised.gif)
Ken,
I like the look, but will the close proximity to the shed wall hold moisture and speed deterioration of the facade? I like the progress too, just hope the washer/dryer are working well to keep all those soggy ‘T’ shirts in top condition.

At least you got two birds with one stone. Woulda been rotten if your got general life taken care of then the weather went sour. I don’t think it looks crowded/overwhelming at all. Looks better every time I see it.

The facade is built up with coroplast, PVC and plastic veneer so not much chance of that. The only saving grace with the weather is there’s been a nice breeze blowing, and no rain. We’ve had one of the wettest Junes that I can remember. Seemed I was either cutting the grass or watching it rain…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
Got a bit more done today…
Ken,
Pretty neat!
Best,
TJ
Maybe this was already asked and I missed it, but wont wild life want to take up residence under the layout or are you closing it off underneath some how?
And… I know you and others are into this whole point-to-point railway setup for doing opps and what not, but don’t you ever want to just relax and watch a train go around without having to worry about stopping it at some point?

Eventually I’ll some kind of garden around it, so it’ll be closed off. Besides, that’s what they make pellet guns for…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
This is the half way mark, Vinnie. It’ll loop around the trees and head back toward Delores, like this:
and connect into that wye.

I see, sweet!
What will be the length of the main line?, its hard to judge by the pictures how far everything is.
Looking great Ken. Looking at the recent work the table seems to be out of level. It is just the angle the pic was taken?

Ok I was wondering if that was your plan for a border!
Nice!!

Yes and he has covered this before …RE READ…
I love that sweeping curve, by the stack of lumber frame right.

I had it written down somewhere when I was planning all this, but I think the distance from the shed to where it is now is about 80’. So, once it gets around the trees and heads back, it’ll be about 200’ give or take and inch or 2…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
