took a break from buildin and did some runnin, kind of an informal operating session.

Workin the stock pens in Mancos

Worked the yard in Delores

Then back up to Mancos

Looking good! Too hot to run here right now…so doing some inside work.

Looks great, Ken…

It was a tad bit warm here, too, but I wanted to try out the new track work and see if there were any bugs.

Looks good Ken. I like the scenery in the background. It gives it that look and feel like its running through a garden setting still.

I’ve got a few plants that I dug up from the old layout that I want to plant around the layout. I just have to figure out where I want them. I’ve been concentrating more on track work then scenery. And building a facade for the opening in the side of the shed.

Looks great Ken!

How is the track work…nice a smooth??

It’s a lot smoother than when it was on the ground. Couple of turnouts need tweaking, but other then that, no problems.

Looks great!

Looks like it has much less maintenance than on the ground, I mostly do model railroading outside, rather than garden railroading

Looks very good.

Thanks, Dennis. I enjoy the gardening part just as much as the train part. Which is the main reason I’m trying to get it as close to ground level as possible.

I see it now. Mancos is at the high spot in the yard. You can go off in ay direction planned or unplanned with out turning into a subway. Looking good ken. If your getting cool shots like that now, just think when you have all your planting done.

Yea, it looks great. I am one of those folks who likes to get down and play in the dirt. Your raised roadbed is a cool idea, and would make life a lot easier.

Yup, there is a slight grade from Delores to here and I’ve managed a 10 car train behind on of my Annies with a bit of a struggle. Once it leaves Mancos and heads around the tree behind the trailer it’ll be downhill from there.

I have a few plants that were dug up from the old layout and a couple of the larger ones will be planted outside the bench work mainly as a screen to hide it.

I enjoy that too, and hopefully with this setup I’ll be able to “play” more and “fix” less…

Working on a facade to go over the hole in the shed wall:

Neat Idea !

Looks good. What will you put over the hole? Opening doors? Removable door?
