Thick hides sure…but when ya have an 11 y/o daughter and three grandkids 2, 4, and 6 looking over your shoulder at Bobs pooch…and that pops up…The CFO is convinced that everything on the internet is porn anyways, lets show a LITTLE decorum eh?

Fair enough Bart, but I fail to understand the logic where breasts (out of focus at that) are not family fare while the above is. Reminds me of a photo in Hustler during the Vietnam war: Which was more offensive, a GI with his head blown off, or a naked woman? Now back to our regularly scheduled flame war JR
…dogs, and barge poles…let us not forget the famous Vogel Family “Barge Dog”.
Young Carl Vogel and his long list of family members; Carl often has one of them report from Moscow (USA) on the state of LGB and model railroading in that town.
Usually, he leaves it to your imagination, as to where his mind really is, but brings a tear to one’s eyes, with a good bit of humour.
Our own “Lone Railroader” often flys to some higher or lower plane, in order to try to converse with young Carl. Whether he has ever succeeded, is debateable, but I leave that for him to report on.
In any case; with this “Non-topic” reaching such epic proportions; Barge Dogs just had to be mentioned !!
Let me see if I got this right, writting Shit, or Asshole is A-OK, but showing the least bit of skin somehow falls outside of acceptability? What is this? the MPAA???
Come on guys, this is a family board… knock it off. Yea, maybe I should have edited the Picard image out, too, but geez, dont push it.
Yeah…specially since it YOUR Picard image…but ya know…I thought Network TV Rules applied…tamer poo poo words and butt cleavage only…
Fred, Hmmmmmm I guess I wasn’t paying enough attention, that “Barge Dog” in C.Vogel’s reports slipped right by me. But I do remember the Blue PRR Kroks. To get a current report on LGB from C.V. should be “interesting”. Shedding a bit of light on the various “Please buy, buy anything, just buy” appeals and the subliminal messages therein.
To get back to the scale topic, one of my German acquaintances once mentioned - in reference to the almost scale of the 1:22.5 items - we should be able to pay with “close to money” for items that are “close to scale”. Excellent idea, in my opinion.
OK lets try this again …
Now do you really care what the scale is???
(different pic of the misses )
I like your engine, Vic.
Looks like it came out of at the the same design studio as the LGB 2-4-0…AKA a BIG Mikado run straight into a brick wall at 120MPH!
Compacting all the necessary power into a smaller space.
Kinda like Apple computers…
Sorry to hear about her boating accident Vic…gettin shot in the back with a PAIR of torpedos had to hurt…

Thanks, that was the idea…it was based on some home-made stuff I’ve seen in books on industrial lines. The Mack base is nominaly 1/24 but as its a mining engine I figured I could justify a smaller squeeze of a cab and call it narrow gauge. I think it illustrates my philosophy approaching model construction, Its not precise, very much (if not entirely) by eye, I’m always sketching out ideas in a binder, some I build, some not. I doubt anyone would believe me if I called it 1/20.3, so I dont, but I would never insist that it was 1/20.3 either. It is what it is, and thats fine for me. SO far I dont believe in holding to one pure “scale” as I end up using to many varied sources for models, example the plastic Japanese bump-and-run floor toy I used for my Boxcab Dismal. This philosophy as is, would never work for some people, but thats not my goal, my goal is to mess with your brain, and look at things with a more open mind and maybe get an idea to do something themselves. All this needs to meet the 1/20.3 rule (if their is one) would be a taller cab, eh, maybe one rainy day…
Need to weather it…
“Need to weather it…”
Move up here and run on the CCRy for a year.
It’ll get weathered!

Your Royal Friarness
On the topic of the Various Vogels and the one that might be at home (if you know what I mean) at any give time, I have conversed and hob knobbed with each and everyone in the bars and patios of Dallas on more than one occasion. And in every given setting, I found a non-violent person that is a pleasant conversionalist…as long as you are buying…They’re all Shrewish I tell you. He is a devoted feetball (Soccer to Gringos) Mom and trucks the kids far and wide to kick the ball…Many at entertained at the Annual ECLSTS Rodent Fest each Spring by Carl and His Piccolo…often he is the only enterance music for his Royal Frairship, hisself. And his Barge Dwog is the menace of the Pine Barrens of Joisoy.
He likes trains, but ever since the Vicious Rodent attack a few years back, he has not had time to rebuilt a railway…Maybe some could tranverse over to place and have a “Railroad Raising” Party. (He’s got track & trains.) Just a thought?
He posts mostly on the B-T List with snippets of news on LGB.
After all is said and done, he fills the category of “Friend”.
The Lone Railroader
On the Dirt Poor Line on the Lonesome Prairie
Hans Guess I lurk more than loyal Republicans at a Hillary Clinton Fundraiser…but honestly, I’ve been out feeding the barge dwog for some years. I get my LGB news from the German newspapers and then, compare it to the LGBofA releases. Information released by the court-appointed controller paints an interesting picture. While 2005 sales were estimated at a high level by the banks, they actually dropped by 1/3 from 2004 to 2005. Had the LGBofA not been sold without the bank’s knowledge, things might of been a little different. Course, rumor has it that some hobby competitor was pushing the banks to call in their loans with the loss of the LGBoA collateral, just so that they could seize control. Anyway, product is flowing and LGBofA is alive with stuf to sell. I have been posting a multitude of articles on this subject on Big Trains…all are available on the archives. In addition, I did write a brief Americanized “white paper” article on the classic “pull” economic theory as it applies to the selling of a single starter set. If desired, I can insert that “white paper”, translated from Russian into English for you capitalizt pigs in the Americas, wallowing in your ill-gotten gain. If not, I can discuss my next project of modelling Moscow subways. Vaslaav! Vioc

Vioc,
Ahhhhhhhhhh, yes those snippets from the insolvency court, the Newspapers and the TV coverage.
I translate those with pleasure, make for interesting reading.
As I always say: “You can never be too careful which banks you choose for your business”!
Those guys are just ruthless, you try to do a wee endrun and next thing you know they have you nailed to the boards. And you end up in a jam where you can’t afford to pay a decent translator and things show up completely different in English from what had been published in German - and vice versa.
BTW that “White Paper” on the Moscow subway sounds interesting, will it improve the busker’s life? Will it add yet more art treasure? Or will it just make sure that they will never, ever have a fire on their stainless steel escalators?
Do you have any pictures of the BargeDowg? I’m not sure if that white Lab is Bob’s dog but “the guys” could liven up things with an occasional “wuff”.
I learned a long time ago never to trust anything Russian.
Ever.
Can you say “Kursk”?
