Large Scale Central

A new subject

I’ve been having this war with myself for a long time…

My first purchase was a 1:29 GP-9 and a 1:22.5ish box car (Lionel) followed by a 1:29 caboose.

Then I discovered Delton Classics and went nuts buying 1:24

Along the way I purchased more 1:29 diesels, a few 1:22.5 steamers and a 1:24 steamer.

Then I saw the a Bachman Dizzy on sale and bought a fleet. Then came a Connie so now I have lots of 1:20.3 as well.

I think Ric has the right idea - call your scale 1:21.4 (plus as many decimals as you like) and have a Rum-ski, or a bheer and enjoy it.

Oh - I could easily work on 1:1 stuff, there are several local groups plus the FEBT. I’m too busy modeling for that :open_mouth:

Grain of salt will help.

That salty enough for ya?

Man this has gotta be a new record for a post going to 4 pages and not really saying anything! WOW!!!

Not much to say really, the original statement was,
“1:20.3 is the One True Scale™, and the rest of you are pikers playing with toys!”
Yup, I play with 1/29. it fills the same hole in my life as your 1:20 does in yours. Great ain’t it?

I don’t know, we had one 7 pages long a while back that didn’t say a whole lot either !

Ditto!!!

“No Barge Pole”

What?

ARF??? Clarify???

Ghee is clarified butter. This would explain the mysterious disappearance of Ghee gauge trains on sunny days, leaving only a sticky residue on the ballast. Clever marketing ploy. You have to go out and buy new ones. Oh yes, 1:20. Nope, no opinion on that.

Rod,

Is it possible that the “hole in one’s life” is filled quicker since there is more WOW factor with the larger scale?

What?

Bob, That pooch has probably a similar lineage as one we sit from time to time. “What, no stick?!? OK, I’ll get my own barge pole!” Yes, the bigger the better. And “Watch out you two-legged creatures, I’m coming through!”

[image removed] Now do you really care what the scale is???

Yeah.
Since it’s Heinie-kin and not Guiness.

Don’t care about the beer. Doc won’t let me drink it any ways. So Vic can keep that. But nobody ever said anything about the cupholder…
