...... where did you leave TT and S? :)
This a god-fearin' family forum, Mr. Miller, we'll have none of that TT and S stuff here! :(

Just to stretch your cranial cavity a bit.

It’s “0”, or “zero” scale (naught?).
It’s “H0”, or “Half Zero”.

“S” was originally H1, but those guys were too smart, didn’t want to ba half of anything, hence “S”.

Darn, Chris! You took the words right out of my mouth…

I also left out that other HO scale…@@ <----(The way my eyes get looking at dinky scale!)

I do beg your pardon, Sir!  Oh yes, only this afternoon I read in the G&M book review section “Language isn’t a tool, but an element”! So true, so true! Just like: earth, air, fire and water.

BTW Mr.Vernell, while I have been anglicized to a certain extent, the name hasn’t kept pace. It’s still “Mueller” (Müller).

So 1:128 scale might be Half-S. 'Nuff said.

And certain Colorado lines would be Half-E(rie).
And all those 3’6" lines would be Half-(IK)B.

I think it’s time to go find me a half-pint. Darn, I’m not allowed to have any :frowning:

Oh dear, things went a bit wonky on this post. :frowning:

Might be because more than a few of us are a tad wonky…

Hmmmmmmmmm… I wouldn’t imply, let alone mention, that.

I was just referring to a temporary hiccup between my 'puter and the server.

There those that I know, and some are here on this board that have more than just a temporary hiccup between reality and life in general…

The linkage between my seat and the keyboard is faulty. I’m not sure it can be fixed.

Reality…nice place to visit…but I wouldn’t want to live there…

Guys, This is the only true scale, just need to figure out how to get it in my back yard.

WOW that looks so real! Makes you wonder how they make them look so real. :open_mouth:

Hmmph! Toys, toys, toys!! Unless you can ride behind it all it is is a toy!! 1:13.7? Phaugh!! 1:12 is where it starts! 1" Scale coal fired live steam!!! (Oh, I suppose that 1:16 will also work but it’s not nearly as interesting!) Oh yeah, and what’s all this mm conversion crap??!! I avoided calculus like the plague and that conversion scale gave me the willies!!

Steve, Nothing to convert, the proto was built in metric, the models are built in metric. It’s all in the decimal system! BTW that was really promoted by Napoleon; he thought the Brits wouldn’t be able to figure it out. They had more than 200 years thus far and they’re part way there. Hmmmmmmmm I forgot the USA is even farther behind. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

While we’re on the arcane stuff, I finally read the answer to “Why are there 5280 feet in one mile?”. What a way to go!

models, schmodels, 1:1 (if I had the money)
