Edit for page 5

It’s the Jackson & Burke RR, not the Jurrasic Park RR…

Almost sounds the same but not quite.

Wow!

Ok, 10 pound pigeons then.

:stuck_out_tongue:

At the rate our hummingbirds are emptying their feeders that’s what they are going to weigh!

Started on the roofs. First, I had to cut the corrugated pieces to size. Then I had to add brick sheets to the inside of all the walls.

I cut some holes in each roof to allow for venting and added some chimney pieces.

The vent holes are to be covered with either wood (you can see where I’ve started on the left side - still need to add strips across the top.

On the right, I have made a cover out of tin, folded and corners soldered.

I’m thinking I’ll just leave the tin as is and see how it weathers.

Looking good Bruce.

Between you and Ken there is a lot of corrugated plastic out there in the sun. I hope that covering it like Ken does, or painting it will give it UV protection. Unprotected it breaks down pretty badly after a few years outside.

Well, I cover all of that plastic, then paint the covering, so I hope I’m doing it right. Matheson Textiles has been out there the longest (2007) and it seems pretty good. It is made from Precision Products sheets over acrylic and then painted with exterior latex.

I also like to vent my buildings, but I’m not sure if it really does anything.

I’m putting non-skid stuff on the roof; it will look like tar and gravel, I guess.

It’s pretty blah unless ya cover it. And I appreciate all the stuff you’ve managed to scrounge from the trash bin so we can recycle it.

Bruce, have you considered using wet/dry sandpaper of, say 400 grit? Looks more real than nonskid.

I used it on a reefer once, but I’m not sure how well it will hold up outside. So, non skid it is…plus it’s already in place.

One of the roof pieces with the non-slip strips in place.

Where do you get that “non-slip” stuff?

I was looking for a “peppled” type roofing for my caboose and couldn’t remember where I had got it from. That’s looks similar.

Ken, I got this roll from Amazon. It’s pretty sticky, but it was only enough for two of my roofs.

Looks good. And what did you use for the seams ?

Dave, I use Black E-6000 - it’s pretty neat stuff.

Well, damn, that looks like sumthin they’d sell in a Hardware store…

I’ll have to look.

Lowes had it last time I bought some (a couple years ago)

Yep

Vinyl flooring or interior stairs section

Nice look Bruce

Ace has it, too.

Glazed and installed the windows on the back. The holes in the back are for some brass tubing to act as drainage. I’ll install them after I glue the roof pieces in place (right now they’re just lying on top).
