Making a bit of progress with the building front.
That standing seam roof looks great on there.
Thanks - after the next coat of copper, I’m going to try a bit of patina on it.
That’s different…kewl lookin…
“coat of copper” as in paint? Looks good!

Is there a law that says copper paint is not allowed for roofs?
Very nice. I like that copper roof.

NO,I should have been more specific with my question for Bruce.
Very effective result.
Bruce, what brand of paint did you use ?
Geoff, in the past I’ve used Sophisticated Finishes, but this time I opted for Modern Masters ME149-06 Reactive Metallic Copper. I also got the Aging Solution Green Patina, but haven’t tried it yet.
I’ve been VERY pleased with how the Sophisticated Finishes holds up outside. So far I’ve used the platinum, iron, and two types of bronze. I hope this copper lasts as well.
I was a bit worried as the first coat (over primer) seemed to be VERY thin, but subsequent coats have given it a nice look.
Here’s what it looks like after applying the aging patina solution.
And the hits just keep on coming! Great looking facade, Bruce, especially the copper roof. I have a similar overhang on my old hotel (a work in progress, like much of my modeling), but I’m so in love with my handiwork that I can’t work up the courage to age the surface, as you did so masterfully.
I’m about done with the middle shop; I can’t think of anything else it needs.
All the glazing is in place, and the paint has been touched up on that part; the other shops still need some more work.
Of course there will be a sign, and some sort of detail or something in the lower windows, but I haven’t figured it all out yet.

I’ve been using PowerPoint for my signs and then sending the presentation off to Stan for decals, but I’m having a bit of trouble making the kind of signs I want in PowerPoint.
Anyone got any favorite software program for making signs? Cheap is preferred.
Adobe Illustrator? kinda what its designed for… I do all my decals on it…
Looks great Bruce. AI is also what I would use, but it is not even close to cheap. Work paid for my copy or I wouldn’t have it.
WOW Bruce I am very impressed and again love your modeling techniques
Dennis
Thanks guys. It’s been a fun one.
This is the sort of sign I’d like to do

They are hand painted signs. I think you should model them like they did on the 1:1 sign. Got any really tiny brushes?

But “it’s not nice to pop a copper’s topper!”
the easiest way to make signs is with MS-word.
