2019 Mik's Build Challenge

(And by the way, anybody who works on top of a washer or dryer is nuts!)

Hey! You don’t have to tell everyone that I am nuts.

FYI: For those that may be new to LSC, and those that don’t remember; Mik, founder of the Challenges, Due to available space and access, he used the top of the washer and dryer extensively to build his home grown projects.

So building on top of W&D really is a tribute to our build Challenge founder…

Never take yourself to seriously…

A successful MIK build always had a photo of a washer and dryer, a huge paint brush, and some whimsical commentary about how he found the parts. I miss his energy.

It’s all in the Plans man, the Plans. Why I have the best plans since sliced bread and if you don’t have plans as good as mine, why you can’t even consider yourself worthy of this contest! I bought up all the plans similar to mine and burned them !!!

Give up now!

My Plans are so good they are a contest of their own.

What are you thinking?

A little story why we joke about crayons and napkins or a stick in the dirt.

I’m chemo-fuzzy on the facts.

My plans are better than your plans. The problem with my plans is that I accidentally put them through the washer and dryer…now my plans are hundreds of little dry spitballs.

Ah Grasshoppah,

That’s the trouble with cleaning off yer work bench!

Plans? I don’t need no stinking plans.

That used to aggravate my computer science teacher… In his world, everything needed a flowchart (plan).

Im in this year…Looking forward to it…

again I am on the fence, I have last years project I am still trying to get looking good, the year before’s project is currently without a home due to layout revisions, and the first years project is in sad shape after some bad moves with things around it, and bad building to begin with. Waiting to see what kind of warpped, twisted idea Dave comes up with this year. Bring it on Dave !!!

Wellllllllll Thanks Pete, what a neat Idea theme for a Mik challenge… Warped and Twisted project… Has some good legs for builders…

Image result for Hey I resemble that remark!"

oh NO!!! Thats not what I meant!!! Dave do not take my rumblings seriously! LOL

I’m going to see what the challenge is first, once again I’m limited for space and already have a ton of ambitious things I still want to do…so I dunno. We’ll see.

Well, I have a train show in the middle of the challenge, and I might, possibly, be shipped off to Epson school for a week during the challenge. So, unless its something I can quickly cobble together (stop laughing), I doubt that I will be playing along.

I’m probably in. No fires this time around but you just never can predict when an earthquake will hit. Just sayin’ …

10 Days count down starts today…

Still have time to hoard stuff you might need or not use…

And time to clear off the work bench

Dave

Its hard to hoard and clean at the same time (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)I feel like a child waiting on Santa (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-smile.gif)

  • Craft sticks…check!
  • Salvaged pink styrofoam…check!
  • Abandoned plastic corrugated campaign poster…check!
  • Sundry glues and paints…check!
  • Stuff for rolling stock and / or motive power…Hmmmm…

We are as ready as we ever will be!

It’s a dilemma, do I clean off the work bench and compromise 3 in progress, he said to derisive laughter, projects or clean off a new surface?(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-undecided.gif)

10 days to stew on it, should work out fine…

John, find another open flat surface to work on…

I say that, but I no longer have any open flat surfaces anywhere in my house.
