Geez, a drummer who can sing too! I never seen such a thing before, unless maybe you count Ringo.
Isn’t the drummer from ZZ Top also the lead singer? Maybe I am wrong.
His name is Frank Beard, born in Frankston Texas. He doesn’t sing lead, and he’s the only guy in the band without a beard.

Hope that is a bit tongue in cheek; if not look up “What I Like About You” by the Romantics for another example.
Urban myth has it that Phil Collins played every instrument on “In the Air Tonight”; the line “If you told me you were drowning, I would not lend a hand” is directed at his newly ex wife.
Another myth is that Paul McCartney played drums on at least 4 occasions while the Beatles were recording the “White” album because Ringo took a leave of absence…
Coincidently, a 13 year old Phil Collins can be seen in the audience during the closing concert sequence of the Beatle’s film “A Hard Day’s Night”.
I was a Drummer in a garage band 50 years ago… I could not carry a note in a three handled basket, and I was threatened if I tried to sing… So I don’t fit the line of this thread…!!!
BUT … You only have 40 days to gather up all your stuff…
Dave the evil one…
MIK 2020 in 40 days.....
Get ready....
Oh, we are ready!
I now have my Christmas on January 1st of each year and can’t wait to get up on New Years Day to see what Santa Dave has in store for us. And yes, I’m ready. too.
I’m gathering all the wrong stuff as we speak.
I sure hope it goes better this year!

Some of the best music, IMHO, from the late sixties and early seventies was by “The Band”. One of the lead singers, Levon Helm, also was the drummer. He sang “The night they drove old Dixie down”. In the song, he mentions that he served on the Danville train 'Till Stoneman’s cavalry came And tore up the tracks again.
Mixing a little music with trains.

30 day countdown starts today.
Mik's Build Challenge 2020
Jan 1st, 2020
Hawai’i stands ready!
Heart of Dixie is ready … I think … well, maybe I’m ready … ahh, heck, I got a lot of work to do to get ready. But you can bet your bottom dollar I’ll be ready come January 1, 2020 (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
This is gonna be interesting. At the same time I am doing the LSC build challenge i will also be participating in another swap on Lumberjocks. But I am in for MIK.
Git out the crayons and napkins!
Is it cheating to start sketching now? I’ll forget my idea in 30 days. Heck, I’ll forget it next week.
Why was I going to get a napkin?
Lou, since we don’t know what the challenge subject is, what would you sketch?
I sit and rock and sketch on my walls.
Gosh, I think I may have won one of these competitions several years ago, when Mik was still living. Think my entry was my Brandywine & Gondor RR train protection vehicle, which the train crews affectionately referred to as a “Balrog catcher.” The car resembles a larger vehicle produced by Union forces during the Civil War. It mounted a naval sized rifled canon on a seven-axle flat car with a sloping armor-plated front shield. My car has a smaller canon, four axles, and the body can be rotated 180 degrees atop the chassis to face the car for the return trip at a branch line terminal.
I think Mik gave me a very nicely detailed dragon (may have been an ash tray - the actual glass ash tray was not included) for my prize.
Best, David Meashey
P.S. Probably should mention that I no longer smoke (ex-pipe smoker), so no need for any ash trays.
My voting results from last year
The washer and dryer are keys to a great build in the challenge !

Did that dime in your tumbler come out heads or tails??? Looks like heads, no wait, it’s tails, no wait… (And by the way, anybody who works on top of a washer or dryer is nuts!)
