2015 LSC Drag & Brag

Tired of winter? Ready for spring?

Start the train year off right by coming to the 2015 LSC Drag and Brag, Friday evening, March 27 at the Wyndham Garden in York, PA.

(BTW, there’s also a show nearby on Friday and Saturday )

Last year the D&B was in the Susquehanna room, but that was before the change of ownership of the hotel - not sure if Wyndham has renamed it or not. If it’s the same room, it’s just to the left of the dining area. I’ll put up a sign.

This is your chance to meet fellow LSC members face to face and discuss trains, trains, and more trains. Bring your latest projects and show them off.

Admission is free and everyone is invited, but please consider making a donation to help offset the room cost.

We usually get some ice to help cool beverages, but it’s up to you to provide the beverages you would like to drink.

Jean and I will probably be there around 5 PM or so to make sure that somebody is present and to make sure everybody feels welcome.

It typically starts off a bit slow…

But pretty soon a good crowd is there.

And a panorama view (courtesy of Doc Watson):

Lots of fun and people are coming and going all night. We usually quit somewhere around 1030 or 11, depending on when people mosey off.

I heard a rumor that the Roving Rooster will be there!

Great, now we’ll have to pay for carpet shampooing, too…

Well, I think I have that covered…

Hey, Bruce, that looks like it would be good with a little club soda!

this was what I expected to see on the 2nd shot:

Y’all have fun!..Maybe Next Year (I say that every year)

Just follow the signs.

Or the minions…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)

The D&B has come a long way from when it was not-even-a-dozen of us sitting around in someone’s hotel room. Five or six years ago (at another hotel), we had a small-ish conference room (which was crowded), and its grown since then. Its been in the Susquehanna Room for the last few years. Last year, if I recall, we had close to 90 people at one time, with probably more total overall, since people come and go.

Yeah, 2010. The Holiday Inn Express south of town was the official hotel. The conference room could probably comfortably seat about 8 people.

I like the new format a lot better.

Or, 2006 when we were just in a hotel room…

Bart has never said exactly what he was doing here… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)

Huh - Bob hasn’t aged a bit!

You surprise me, given the hassle he has had from various quarters on LSC in recent times. (http://www.cosgan.de/images/smilie/frech/e010.gif)

Just two more hours of work for me today then it will be all about Trains! (and food).

Heading out tomorrow morning around 9am for York, should be in town sometime around 4pm.

See everyone at show & D&B!

That’s basically my plan, too. Have everything I’m bringing in a big pile. Packing clothes once I’m done with work today, and packing the truck. Head out between 7 and 8 tomorrow morning.

With the hour from your house to where we live we should be pretty close on the road!

We usually grab Rt9 in CT, then head 84 to 81 to York.

I go 84 to 684, then 87/287 down to 78W. Then 222 to 30 into York. Saves me about an hour instead of going out 84 to Scranton and down.

Rodent surgery.

I started becoming a regular at these gatherings when it was still being run by Fr. Fred and called the Rodent Party. There was a whole collection of stuffed rodents in attendance. The year the picture above was taken was the last time the Rodents appeared and I think the next year the gathering officially became the Drag-N-Brag.
