YOUR VOTE MAY COUNT: Which is the MOST logical outcome?

whatever: the very long spiel of a succinct answer.

Wendell,

To get the answer you want, do this

Buy $2.5 million of Goldman Sachs stock, this will make you a board member, ask Axel @ Marklin

At this point I’m going to agree with JJ on how things will pan out. I also agree with Jerry, the silence is the best indicator that things are progressing. Failure would bring an immediate response from somewhere.

Use common sense. LGB was down for some time
everything was at a grinding halt. There is NO WAY Marklin could get the whole world up and running at one time. Most of the world plays with European style trains
thus those markets would be the easiest to get up and running first. The US does not
thus our stumbling block. Given due time we will have LGB back on the shelves. And my prediction is by the end of the year we will know.

Warren,

If you watched a few of the European insolvencies - not necessarily or exclusively in the MRR sector - getting untangled, then you would know that the NA situation is highly unusual and that’s putting it mildly. Possible reasons for delays will be listed in a different thread. :0

HJ, the soap opra is over and I think most of us are burned out on speculative reruns.

Warren, It ain't over till its over. The fat lady has yet to sing.

Meanwhile, I think that I will just keep working on my track.

I rather believe that any arrangement with LGBoA will be transitional.
Marklin don’t need LGBoA as an operation employing people.
LGBoA might own some intellectual property that Marklin might want (in the future) but the point is they don’t “need” it as badly as LGBoA needs product. If the spotted deer store starts showing a full range of LGB products again then I’ll believe an arrangement has been reached that allows LGBoA to sell product (which might not include distribution of product). Still some way to go before the dust settles.
Les

My vote is #6 and #7.

Would there be this much piffle if it was Aristo that was bankrupt and TU?

TOG

TOG,

That all depends.

But in essence it doesn’t matter, what matters is “Good product at a reasonable price available within a reasonable time.”

Just found out today that the KISS engines (Ge 4/4’ and Ge 6/6") will be delayed because the order volume is much larger than anticipated. Instead of Nov/Dec it probably will be Mar - I’m just guessing, but it would be a nice birthday present.

BTW Those who sweat it better stock up on deodorant.

John: I can’t imagine that there would be near as much bleating. Most folks who are in the model RR hobby realize: 1) It’s a hobby. A very good and interesting one, but still just a hobby; 2) There are numerous sources for trains and materials. Some good, some perhaps not so good, but truly lots of choices.

Many of the LGB toy train collectors distinguish themselves as a breed apart! If it doesn’t say “LGB” it just doesn’t exist!

Happy RRing,

Jerry

HJ,
What’s the status on the KISS Mikado?
Any rumors?

Thanks for the photo!
I have yet to see one.
Might you know:
1- Does the KISS loco, compared to the new B’mann K-27, require the same minimum radius?
2- Any idea as to cost?
3- Any opinion, considering 1:22 the loco’s actual size, and most owner’s mix of car sizes, that it will not be dwarfed and out of place?
4- Who carries this animal?

Thanks,
Wendell

Wendell,

Check thisat KISS. They mention R2 and 1500mm in the same breath. Well 1500mm is approx 5ft; R2 is 2.5ft

I suspect they mean R2 radius and 1500mm diameter, both are about the same but its just not very well clarified. R2??? a K36???
that Bachmann Beasty wont be able to touch anything under 8’ diameter. To bad its over $3K US
