Steve, I would love to train it. No trains to York from either PHL or BWI.
To train from Arizona to BWI or PHL would be $401 in coach. 3 nights sitting up. Don’t think so.

Your right about no trains from BWI to York Stan but there is Light Rail service from BWI to Hunt Valley which is 30 min south of York and I can pick you up from there for the short trip up 83

"…so my room was only $50 a night. The $40 a night I save will buy me a good breakfast, lunch and dinner at the “Diner” wink Ralph "
That is where I’ve stayed the two times I’ve been lucky to attend ECLSTS ! and believe the same thing regards savings although the savings could go towards a box car . . .
The Diner ya speak of is that the one 2 parking lots to the west of the RRI ? I’ve had breakfast there plus the occ. supper when nothing catches me eye on the way bk in from the days events !
JF; there was the inaugural MWLSTS’03 that vendors were allowed to go early due to the adverse weather conditions and lower crowd numbers than forecast, . . . . and your family experienced near lift-off via tornado !!

Welllll… Thank you all for your response and offers of help with the ECLSTS requests.
I have found a Large Scaler who will be picking me up at BWI on Wednesday night, driving to York and staying at the HI convention hotel for 4 nights with a return to BWI early Sunday for my flights back to PHX. Thursday will be a day of helping the setup process for Dan Hoag.
Again, many, many thanks for all your help. We’ll see you there.
Looking forward to it, Stan. Glad everything worked out.

No Doug, that one is across from Apple Chevrolet. The Diner is on the same side of Rte 30 as Apple Chevy, but the next light down.
Stan, that’s great news. I’m looking forward to meeting you. Jean and I are staying at the convention hotel Friday night. I may have to bring some of my cars with your decals on them.
Looks like we’ll have a good crowd!
Can I come?
Only if ya bring some fine ales for the bunch. (And get Shawn to stay at least one night).
I’m counting on Friday being the drag and brag/get together night. Hope that’s correct.
I hope its correct, too, since I’m not staying Saturday…
Can I come?
You’re supplying the Troegs again, right?
I can if I’m supposed too?
Bruce Chandler said:Bruce, that would be wonderful. I'm flying in and packing light. I'll have a few decal sample sheets but no trains. There will be some on Dan Hoag's layout and another locomotive or 2 as well.

Be great to meet you…
I thought long and hard about staying at the Holidrome. Still waiting for the coffee that goes with my breakfast from 5 or so years ago. At that time it was dirtiest Motel/Hotel that I ever stayed in. I am counting the room and the overall ceanliness of the hotel, That is until I stayed at another Holiday Inn just south of Harrisburg a few years back for an event I went to with my family and that was the Hotel the team chose. It was even worse. I have noticed that the hotels that have Bars/lounges tend to be noisier and dirtier then those without. The bars/Lounges tend to bring out the worst in people.
I held my nose and made my reservations.
LAO
Lets talk “low budget” - Anyone have experience with the Day’s Inn on Arsenal Rd. ? They are $20/night less than teh Red Roof across the street where Ralph & I stayed last year.
Personally, I’ve never had a bad experience at the Holidome. I know that’s an exception, but it’s true.
I know the oldest and his friends use the Days inn for Friday partying.
Thanks Dave. Doesn’t sound promising
Marilyn made the decision for me. She wants to come this year and that means we bring to dog (diabetic, can’t stay home with a sitter). That leaves the Holidome as the only choice so I booked Friday and Saturday night at the show rate.
Interesting that their rate for Feb 25 is $84 to the general public, but goes up to $130 on the show dates just to make that $89 seem like a deal!
BTW - I tried the Group Code ECL on the website and it said no rooms available so I called. Got the rate with no problem although they did not mention the breakfast.
Now I need to get my For Sale list together so I can finance the trip
EDIT: Found out the Red Roof takes pets too, and don’t charge the $20/night pet fee so I booked there too at $64/Night. Saves me $100 including tax for the two nights. That should cover 4 nice breakfasts !
