Love it!
Nicely done. Thanks for sharing.
Steve, Ric,
Thanks!

Okay, I went with the (4) pack of the B-Movie Horror Victims…
So the wreck of the Soggy Bottom Express has panicked passengers. Next I need to come up with an ominous freight load for the gondola car.

I suggest eggs or fireworks.

Hmmm, wonder if I can find a suitably sized model of Fat Man or Little Boy? Maybe a stack of WWII blockbusters.

Love it Tim. I was thinking more on the ends of some chickens getting loose from the gondola. Make sure you have that old Rooster in it.

Noel,
No track for a frozen train! Don’t have any to spare for yard art. Some old Bachmann stuff but it would rust out in no time.

TJ
The Bachman track will last a lot longer then most think. I have had some outside for 5 years now. No signs of it rotting away, just rusty. I live in a wet area.

Shawn,
That is very interesting. I have a lot of the Bachmann stuff in a box somewhere in the garage. I’ll dig it out and try some. Thanks for the tip!

Maybe a tank of super hot sauce.
Or some 55 gallon drums of nuclear waste. With the radiation warning stickers on them.
Or maybe drums with Bio hazard stickers on them.
Perhaps Unsecured Russian Gas Bottles:

Who needs fireworks?
Joe
I guess it would be kind of ironic if it had some crates from the Acme Parachute Co. in it. At least all of the passengers and crew would have an easier time getting down off of the trestle.

Very clever, and well done!
BTW What is Archie McFee?

Phil,
Archie McFee is the online toy store I purchased the B-Movie Horror Victims from.

Thinking about a recent Big Block Buster Movie that was more of a Big DUD which featured a train going off a trestle my vote for the gondola load would be the cast and director of “The Lone Ranger” LOL
Track added (with encouragement from Shawn). Going with Bachmann indoor (silver hollow) track, which should rust to a nice brown before long. Hardest part was cutting ties and bending the 4 foot diameter curves to fit the AC 10 foot curves of the trestle.

…winking…
I made some progress with the gondola car on the wreck of the Soggy Bottom Express. I found a Wile E. Coyote figure and with some repainting he worked out pretty well.
Here you can see an early fitting for size and position…
The barrels are the cheapies from Michaels and just took a quick coat of paint and some work with a sharpie.
To get the right height, I mounted everything on wood them to keep the wood from any water accumulating in the gondola (which has drain holes) I put the blocks up on metal Snapple caps.
The larger crates are just pieces of 2x4 painted and trimmed with coffee stir sticks.
I added a sign and the gondola was complete.
Everything is either screwed or glued to the blocks which in turn are wired to the gondola.
As always, comments and suggestions are welcome.
Best,
TJ
Tim, don’t forget to mark “Acme” on the crates and barrels!
