Your one big question mark to me pal. Perhaps they are willing to wait because they can't afford to buy the distribution rights back? Reading the other posts on this forum leads me to believe Marklin isn't making huge profits at the moment. Three and a half years is a long wait. Can they afford to lose the market share until then? I can use question marks too. It's not very hard.
Hey JJ, You stated;Marklin isn't making huge profits how about no profit, or red numbers so far. Maerklin just stated to newspaper that they will reduce cost for employees to solve this problem.

My point exactly!

Welllll, it could be a whole lot worse. At least they don’t have their bankers freeze all their accounts and prohibit them from delivering anything.

OTOH when the CEO just talks a good job, instead of doing a good job …

But there again, the slogan is probably “We are well within projections and everything is normal.” That must be the standard routine in the German MRR industry, last time we could read that was when Ernst Paul Lehmann Patentwerk oHG went bankrupt. Variations could be heard just before Fleischmann sold out to the Salzburgers, too.

BTW on those salary reductions to the employees, they could start with cutting out the Vacation and Christmas bonuses. I’m sure those ex-LGB employees who are still there could “wise up” the others that that was how EPL oHG tried to steer the course, too.

Never even entered my mind to look for those! I tried the NANA. 22 hits not one of them any kind of connection. :D
My 2 year old can tell you who "Nana" is!!!!!!
Hey Garrett

Is that NANA with or without the “®”?

as in “Nana nana nana, I have a trademarked Nana”

Let’s wait until next week to see how wonderful things are Mr. Marklin!

Well Marvin, didn’t want to be reminded of some of the “saving measures” that EPL used, eh? And that high-class act when the plant (Schöntag’s EPL) was shut down and only Wolfgang came to thank the employees and wish them well, eh! Not a sign of “The Boys”, eh!

Not to mention any of the “fine touches” between Sept 2006 and July 2007 instigated by “The Boys” and Co. Nah, we won’t mention any of that  ;). Sure looks to me that the “fine clique” in Nürnberg can easily compete with the “fine clique” in Salzburg we heard about not long ago. Just one difference, the Nürnberg clique is a lot better documented than the Salzburg clique.

The employees at Märklin have one advantage, a union. Time will tell if that does any good, but since changes will have to be approved by IG Metall headoffice you just never know. They have been known to dig in their heels i.e. bargain in a really tough manner, more than once in the recent past.

But you know all that, don’t you?

It really is amazing how much you know about the Richter’s thier business and thier personal lives considering you never worked for them, your not related to them and you have absolutely no connection whatsoever to anyone or anything connected to EPL. Amazing!

It is, isn't it!?!

Some people refer to that as “well read, well connected.”   :stuck_out_tongue:

PS Forgot the other part “paying attention to details.”

And some refer to it as an “active imagination”!

That is quite possible, considering how the RBB and the Ventilators have problems with proper terms and definitions (not to mention spelling and grammar), I am not in the least surprised. Having problems with one’s native language spells disaster if one has to use Bablefish and Google to translate, Google and Bablefish muck it up in translation and then it gets “interpreted”.

Looks to me like another 21 page yadda yadda yadda!! LOL

Jerry- I could keep him going until tomorrow if I wanted to. Some folks just have to get in the last word no matter what- it’s a silly game.

Jerry,

That’s what happens when people are clutching at straws and can’t face reality as in :Märklin has the trademarks, those trademarks and rights that some “experts” liked to question.

BTW Marvin, in his many incarnations, hasn’t found the right approach yet to get me off balance. With his “talents” he never will.

THEY ARE THE BANKERS!

The current CEO IS on the skids!

THEY are saying: “We are well within projections and everything is normal.”

THEY are trying to cut wages! (Mainly out of the German workers!)

Sounds like history is repeating.

I would guess we’ll see LGB cut loose in less than 6 months!

I don’t know but it sounds like someone is getting ready to abort the “Mission for Marklin”!

Many companies went belly up or moved over the past years, unions or no unions.

I’ve been told that only 35% in Germany are in the Union. “Give backs” would only serve to reduce their unemployment if the big “M” goes belly up.

Ever notice how first the Ventilators tried to squash any and all discussion of what was happening with the old EPL, and now they do nothing but try to subvert the new owners?

Must be part of the “big plan”, started with Shoentag, right?

Maybe we can get the company back for a song.

Maybe not.

Looks like another pillar of the Religion fell when the facts on who owns the necessary trademarks was published.

What do they have left to base the religion on now?

“Wait until next week!”

The trademarks were never in dispute- It’s distribution rights that are in question.
One thing seems obvious- Kingsbridge/Marklin doesn’t seem to be able to make money with the trademarks they fought so hard to usurp!

Usurp???

JJS,
‘usurp’ implies collusion or deceipt. It may be a surprise to you but in all three LGBoA bids to acquire the remains of EPL after the boys had their fun, always came up a few Euro short of the required mark. Only usurping is the final death knells of the company in 2005/2006 and then it was raped mid-2006 with the ‘selling’ of LGBoA to G45 along with worldwide distribution rights outside of Germany.

John, when you come over to the right side of the fence away from the ringmaster publicist and his clowns, you will see the fall of EPL in a different light. LGBoA hung around like vultures ready to swoop on the carrion that remained in 2007. If the numerous LGBoA bids for the company in 2007 exceeded the Marklin offer then you may have scoring points, however, the bids mysteriously always fell short - a little surprising to me!!!!! Shoentag was left in the lurch by person or persons unknown in early 2007, paving the way for a LGBoA acquisition. However, the master plan orchestrated several years earlier, did not factor Kingsbridge/Marklin into the equation. In days of old the loser would have been vanquished or fallen on his sword. You comment that HJ always has to have the last word. John, look in the mirror!
