Welllll, it could be a whole lot worse. At least they don't have their bankers freeze all their accounts and prohibit them from delivering anything. :DOTOH when the CEO just talks a good job, instead of doing a good job …
But there again, the slogan is probably “We are well within projections and everything is normal.” That must be the standard routine in the German MRR industry, last time we could read that was when Ernst Paul Lehmann Patentwerk oHG went bankrupt. Variations could be heard just before Fleischmann sold out to the Salzburgers, too.
BTW on those salary reductions to the employees, they could start with cutting out the Vacation and Christmas bonuses. I’m sure those ex-LGB employees who are still there could “wise up” the others that that was how EPL oHG tried to steer the course, too.
THEY ARE THE BANKERS!The current CEO IS on the skids!
THEY are saying: “We are well within projections and everything is normal.”
THEY are trying to cut wages! (Mainly out of the German workers!)
Sounds like history is repeating.
I would guess we’ll see LGB cut loose in less than 6 months!
Hey Jack, nice to see that you finally get the hang of things i.e. who owns what and who is in charge. Get your buddies together, break the piggy banks, check the funds under the mattress, you could just about scrape enough funds together to come up less short this time. That should be a consolation - just a bit less short! On the time frame; did you polish your crystal ball or was it the burning in your urine?
Marvin, JJ or whichever of the many personas is in charge today
“Mission for Märklin” … good one! Did you think that I suffer from the same maladies as the Ventilators and the RBB? Having illusions and being deluded? Sheesh the lenses in my frames are as clear as day, no red tint, not even the slightest shade. Bi-focals to see the details, excellent peripheral vision since I haven’t been fitted with blinkers.
But hey, it was nice to see that “The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry”, even if one gets all of the Nürnberg and the Munich cliques pulling on the same string. That’s the problem with those intricate webs of deception and collusion, you pull the wrong strand and the whole web untangles. A little birdie told me that another strand is getting detached and wrapped.
These are interesting times!

The trademarks were never in dispute- It's distribution rights that are in question. One thing seems obvious- Kingsbridge/Marklin doesn't seem to be able to make money with the trademarks they fought so hard to usurp!
You’re talking through your hat, as usual! On all counts!
Actually so far there has only been a consolidated statement of results, no breakdown as to the different companies (Märklin, Trix, LGB), but I’m sure your privy to those results, right? Talking through your hat, as usual!

Companies that are in the black don’t usually discuss the possibility of cutting wages.

People who follow what’s going in the industry know that Märklin had been operating in the red for years prior to Kingsbridge taking over, people who know what they’re talking about realize that turning that around will take at least two years if the economy runs well, longer if it’s sub-par.
What I know from German friends, acquaintances and reading more than just the local paper, things are pretty spotty. Emphasis is placed on life’s necessities and as far as I know hobbies are far down on that list; ergo, it will take just a bit more to get Märklin to break even or make a profit.
But you know all that, don’t you!?
