Who owns the former Ernst Paul Lehmann Patentwerk oHG trademarks

Vic,

Tell you what, if instead of that Snoopy Surfer Joe they produce a “Rolfli und Hansel” set (caught with their pants down) that would be a true collector’s item!

“Made in China” using German “engineering”, enclose a manual that explains the background etc. That could be hot like a Pet Rock.

Vic,
a previous posting by Jack, has production already commenced in China. In so far as the ‘German Engineering’ on ‘Made in China’ boxes, well, it was good enough for EPL to print in both German and English, ‘German Quality’ on the back of every Chinese made item. One really had to know where to look to see the little Made in China tag on the I.D. label.

Snoopy Joe would be a collectable if someone painted it wrongly, or missed a paint stage or maybe left a drive gear or a screw or two missing. Beauty, like collecting, is in the eye of the beholder and lately I have been eyeing off all those Peanut's motor cycles and cool Snoopy Joe surfers or maybe a Mars Flyer. Then I will lash out on all that Disneyland stuff - coaches now being listed (but not selling) at $250.00 each. I really cannot see Marklin being that gullible, or maybe their eye glasses are clear and not rose-coloured glass.

Now I really need to sell all my Wilson Bros. Circus, Campbell's Soup and Coke-branded LGB. I did have my senior moments in my earlier collecting years (no Peanut's, Morton Salt or Disneyland items though).
John Joseph Sauer said:
Yes I do long for the days when I could buy a high quality LGB product that wasn't missing screws from the motorblock or was pad printed right side up- those were the good old days! As you like to say- Let's wait until next week and see who owns Marklin/LGB.
They sure were high quality. Generally.

Then the cousins went and stuffed it up for everyone.
Especially themselves.

There are quite a few trademarks missing from the list, but I’m sure HJM got tired.

Actually I didn't get tired, I just didn't list all those that were wiped off the books.

But feel free to list those I missed or ignored. I’m sure the people at LINDNER BLAUMEIER Patent- und Rechtsanwälte, 90402 Nürnberg have done a very fine job and transferred every single one, as the Germans would put it “Ve are dooing a werry fine job, visout any mistakes!”.

Legend has it: No mistakes in Nürnberg (YES wide open to interpretation!)

Marvin, I would venture to suggest your fantasies are much more sordid.

Yep, here’s another one, this one for EPL covers ice skates, toys, gymnastics and sport equipment

The copyrighted “Bob”.
That one will be hard to enforce.

Hmmm…why did this “pop” into mind?

Yes Jack, it will be interesting to see what happens with the list of things (some of which I have not seen) or thought of, or the difference between the registry of LGB and LGBofA between a German and US court?

Food for thought.

Yes, run That past this guy!

The question is, what did Lehmann register under “Bob”?

Hi Garrett,

Your guy is “Bob der Baumeister” (in Germany). (Bob the Builder in the USA.)

I’m talking about “Lehmann BOB” (all caps). It was used on a pull-back toy bobsled.

Yes, my friend Jeff (who you met) gave me a Bob the Builder for my collection of in-car toys.

Ah, so a registered trademark for each toy name? I wonder how that works, as there is Bob the Builder, he is OK, but if my toy company made a Bob the Bobsled would be out, since the bobsled toy has been registered?

How far reaching is such a trademark is what I wonder?

Garrett said:

Remember BOB and Bob are different marks. Many marks are worthless outside the country of registry or unified countries such as the EU.

And they have to be maintained and used. Lehmann used to own the “UHU” mark but lost it to the glue company and later a band when it wasn’t re-registered. That’s why several LGB and Toy Train items reused some of the old names.
They also owned “Octopussy” (toy Octopus) and authorized it to the Bond movie.

Never even entered my mind to look for those! Honestly it didn’t! I must have had the less extremely TOY LIKE items on my mind. So I tried the NANA. 22 hits not one of them any kind of connection.

Next LILIPUT-EXPRESS

and here is what I got

BOB and Bob will show up in the same results page.

Lehmann BOB is a DNS

In any case, it is quite clear who holds the trademarks!

Your one big question mark to me pal. Perhaps they are willing to wait because they can't afford to buy the distribution rights back? Reading the other posts on this forum leads me to believe Marklin isn't making huge profits at the moment. Three and a half years is a long wait. Can they afford to lose the market share until then? I can use question marks too. It's not very hard.
Hey JJ, You stated;Marklin isn't making huge profits how about no profit, or red numbers so far. Maerklin just stated to newspaper that they will reduce cost for employees to solve this problem.
