Large Scale Central

What scale is the LGB Genesis?

Darned if you do- Darned if you don’t.

We all know it’s really not about the scale of the engine, right?

Bingo!

We do?

Ask your handler.
I did send him an e-mail a while back telling him it was a good job on that engine.

The issue is, in this instance particularly, the answer.

Just for the record, one more backdoor access has been eliminated.

It may still work, but rote obedience is NOT what will happen.

I never said anything was wrong with said product, no matter what directives you may have gotten from the handler.

I questioned the lack of forthcoming with the data so the consumer would know what they are getting.

Another, for the record.

The latest Kalmbach Garden Railroad Survey states that 94% of the consumers in Large Scale want to know the scale of what they are purchasing.

Granted, you all are part of that 6%, but when the consumers want to know, and the answer is not forthcoming, THAT is where this is coming from.

Remember that.

But, since it wasn’t spoon-fed to you by your handlers, you probably won’t accept it, and refer to it as “bashing” of a product line and company they does not exist.

If I was interested at all in modern standard-gauge Amtrak passenger ops, I would look at that locomotive and compare width and height to rolling stock I chose to use, then look at prototype photos to see how the model consist compared to the prototype.

Since I am not interested in such, I won’t be looking at it, but that doesn’t mean others shouldn’t.

Those ppl on Fleabay better watch out then, I mean all that stuff in all scales that is listed as “LGB compatable”

“Hey I just bought me a 3 truck Shay and its only 1.22.5, what a find”…

It kills me…

The Evilbay ads that really get me are the ones that read: “LGB, Aristocraft, USAT Box car NIB.” Then it goes on to say something like: “This scale LGB box car made by Aristocraft…blah blah…”

I read the thread before it was yanked and the gentleman who asked the question thanked Mr. Lynch for posting the pictures so obviously he wasn't insulted . You guys are obviously blowing it way out of proportion! I think he didn't post it as 1/29th scale because he probably knew it would give you guys the opportunity to bring up the whole "LGB isn't scale" thing again.
How right you are !

Like I said before, it’s easy LGB was made 22.5 on the Richter scale… and thats about as serious as I take all this.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz???

OK!

Be it resolved that Jack Barton, Ken Fillar and JJ Sauer know (or think they know) exactly why Jack Lynch didn’t post the scale of the Genesis (or all three of them for length, width and height!).

Now that we have that out of the way, let’s hope that Kevin, who asked the question, will buy two of the critters! From what I hear there is a good supply of Genesis. Other stuff may be hard to come by, but there are plenty of Genesis!

And I have discussed this with more than one person at Kalmbach, all tell me exactly the same thing, and the reason it was pulled was not because of anything I said.

Before you open your mouth and overload your posterior, you probably should check.

The question was and is scale.
If the “Big Three” can state it, why cannot anyone from G-45 state it?
Big State Secret?

I knew what it was, didn’t make any difference.
The issue was the recalcitrance to post what many of us knew.

Sorry.

HEY! Hans-Joerg Mueller

I don’t know why you are dragging me into this! I didn’t know of the situation until Tony Walsham posted it and the original thread @trains.com was reported to be gone before I even had an interest in looking. I don’t know what anyone said on that site. I posted a one word message here in response to a unrelated posting.

I will now say that I can’t understand why three men that advertise as being in business to sell products to fellow large scalers would spend so much time trying to alienate a good portion of the LS base. Dave Goodson (a.k.a. T.O.C., a.k.a. Curmugeon) apparently is the official Bachmann reviewer for Garden Railways Magazine, yet acts like a school yard tuff online. Please leave me out of your attacks (and labels) unless I step in with a full argument.

Won’t be long before this one is “Locked and Flushed” as well!

Soooo. who won the "Jack"pot?

So what do you think it is about?

He has to check with his “handler” to see what he thinks.

Oh, and suddenly Jack doesn’t know something?

Really?

Do we just wait until next week?
Next year?
