I notice that fewer and fewer people are using the LSC Chat room.
What has happened to cause this ?
I know that quite often I’ll check in there, and names are listed as being in attendance, but after a long wait; no-one responds.
Is there some way we can build up the chat group, or throw some life back into it. Or, is it a sign of the times. At times there are more Lurkers than participants.
I do try to participate, but without anyone to chat with, it gets kind of lonely.
I tried lsc chat a few times, not many people there, and the system seemed a bit clunky. The topics seemed to be anything but trains. I’ve been on MLS chat most every night.

I tried chat for the anniversary night chat, posted about in the forums. No one else was there during several checks. I gave up.

I had the same experience…
Not an answer to the question exactly but it would help if when people leave the chatroom they’d “Log Out”. The names remain up for some time after a person leaves the site giving the impression they’re still there when they’re not. Of course this may be impractical for those posting from work where they are interupted frequently but most of us could do this. It would give a clearer indication of “who’s on first” so we’re not posting to the wind as much.
Been there seveal times and seem to get ignored a lot so quite logging in. Just my thoughts. Later RJD

Well, from my point of view, I got a new computer awhile back. It came with Vista. If I have the beep on new messages set on, Mozilla locks up. If I don’t have it on, I don’t hear about any new messages. 
Of course, I do seem to possess a chat-killing attribute…

Welp Fred, it’s like this…in order to participate in the evening chat I need to do so from work. If I log in and get called away from my desk then I get accused of ignoring others who may show up. If I don’t log on then I’m one of those blankety blank lurkers. On top of that I have been working a lot of wierd hours lately and don’t have time to sit and wait for folks to show up. On the weekends I usually have better things to do than sit and wait for someone to show up so for the most part I have decided to just give it up, at least for the time being. Maybe when things get back to normal (what ever that is) I will return.
And me, or did you forget or Later RJD
Sorry guys…my omission of your names was not intended to slight you. I knew that Bart and and I almost continually are logged in at work and disappear only due to the time out provision. Didn’t know if the rest were in the same boat or not so didn’t include them.
My apologies.
If you check in during the day and post I’ll respond as quickly as I can. But sometimes, just sometimes…I have to do SOMETHING around here!

but then I often have nuthin to say…Anyway y’all gotta remember it is SUMMER…lotsa guys are outside DOING stuff insteada sittin inside TALKING about it, lol
