What is going wrong with the CHAT ROOM?

Sheesh guys,

On the rare occasion I show up in chat, I just join the conversation - aka I just butt in  :D. You either get an answer or you don’t, of course it’s not a bad idea to lurk for 10 minutes to find out what they are on about.
If it’s silly already then you gotta join in to prove that you can be just as silly.

I notice that fewer and fewer people are using the LSC Chat room.

What has happened to cause this ?

I know that quite often I’ll check in there, and names are listed as being in attendance, but after a long wait; no-one responds.

Is there some way we can build up the chat group, or throw some life back into it. Or, is it a sign of the times. At times there are more Lurkers than participants.

I do try to participate, but without anyone to chat with, it gets kind of lonely.

Fred I know I am the new guy here, but I visited the chat room and it seems to me that all the chat is about everything but topics related to large scale model railroading, that may be the problem with the chat room.

Well, it’s like any gathering. The topic shifts. Sometimes we’ll be talking trains and someone will talk about why they couldn’t work on them today - which leads to weekend plans, or sports, or whatever. Maybe back to trains…maybe not.

Someone else shows up and might change the topic…or not.

Sometimes you have to try to change the topic yourself. Sometimes that works. ;p
