What is Amtrak's ultimat purpose?

drivel…sure…but you get the point. almost everything is a lot more complicated than it seems. So whenever I see something simplistically stated…such as sell Amtrak or the post office I usually offer up a bunch of other things we could privatize just to illustrate the point. there are usually valid points on both side of any argument but I’m often surprised at how often one side can’t see the valid points another side makes. ergo the drivel statement while true can be seen for what it is easily.

But I do believe what I wrote about war. Joined the army in 70 reenlisted in 72 got out in 78 so I gave my country the best 8 years of my life. regrets?..nope. would I encourage my kids to join? nope. Doesn’t mean I don’t honor those that serve. Washington…on the other hand…they’re all corrupt bast#$ds

I wouldn't do it again. It was long the cars weren't exactly dirty but pretty grungy. We had a "Roomette" kind of grody/smelly.
Some years back I rode the, Uhh, Texas Eagle?, from visiting my brother at Fort Hood back to Kansas City.

The coaches desperately needed to be parked for several days to air out with all the windows open.

Except the windows don’t open.

Wrote Amtrak with that opinion of my trip.
