I think so too, Travis…it makes it more fun and feels rewarding for everyone’s excellent work.
Some people very understandably don’t like to vote publicly, but like Dave said in the first post:
"If you choose to vote in private e-mail me at [email protected] "

While I certainly respect a persons wanting to be anonymous so as to not hurt feelings of friends, I am almost certain at least most of us participants don’t give two hoots about winning other than a feather in their cap and braggin’ rights. Seems at least from the participants stand point for the most part it is good natured fun. Well not always but mostly.
Devon, some folks don’t feel “qualified” to vote, and some do not really want to be bothered. One chap last year even complained about all of the build threads, since he didn’t give a hoot about the build. Or was that the year before? It would be nice if more of the group participated, both in the builds and in the voting, but I am just happy that there are as many participants as there are.
And I have won each year. I got a gas station the first year, and even won a prize for it. I got my whimsical bobber last year. And this year I got the oil well. Now I just need to finish the tank car bash that has been in bash status for how many years now?

I get that some people don’t care that’s all good I don’t have any issue with people that are not interested in this. It is one small facet of a much larger site. So no complaints.

I for one don’t have a permanent railroad to put it out on, but it is always fun to participate with you guys here and I learn something new every year. Now if I can just remember it all…
