Travis yes I am happy to have a build off of my someday list. I used to keep a notebook of tips and tricks, but I forget where I put the thing.

You guys crack me up…(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-smile.gif). No matter what the votes are, We all won because we have a new building. I for one don’t have a permanent railroad to put it out on, but it is always fun to participate with you guys here and I learn something new every year. Now if I can just remember it all…
Who forgot this?
David said he won because he got stuff of his bucket list. I siad I don’t give two hoots about whether I win or not. I still stand by the fact that I don’t think any or at least most of the participants care. I know I don’t you could do away witht he prizes and the voting all together and i would participate and have just as much fun. The prizes are not even secondary. I love the challenge, I love seeing what people do with the same stuff, I love sharing ideas with fellow modelers, Prizes . . .what prizes? winners we are all winners.
The only reason I like the voting is it allows a fun twist and who doesn’t like some good natured fun. It also gives others who aren’t build a chance to participate.
I have not seen one comment from anyone of the people that built something that have made a statement that leads me to believe that they have forgotten rule #1 or that the real prize is participating.
I have exercised rule #1 over the last several years sitting on the sideline watching each of the builds come together. I was learning and having fun doing it. This year I felt I had the minimum skills needed to put something together that I needed and would appreciate having on my future layout. But in the end there are only two reasons I participated. 1) Rule #1. 2) To have fun!! I could care less about the voting. It does give a little excitement to the process but I would continue to participate without it. Heck, I had so much fun I am already trying to figure out what Dave may have in mind next year. To those who choose not to participate or vote, that’s their prerogative and I support them 100%. There are many facets of this hobby that do not interest me and so I choose not to get involved as much in those areas, that’s my prerogative. So, lets just all have fun and do what brings us the most enjoyment.
My 2 cents. But with inflation, 2 cents nowadays is not worth diddly.
