Filled another 100 gallon trash can with bamboo cuttings, and fitted a steel post against the fence for some overhead string lights. Thinking about doing the lights now so I can work later, I have everything except the guy wire ready to go. Its gonna be warmer this weekend so hopefully I can get farther along overall.
Jesus Christmas cookies on a bicycle am I exhausted. Spent the day breaking up the last of the bamboo roots. Had to use two shovels, crowbar, an 8’ breakers bar and a chainsaw…but the bamboo is GONE GONE GONE! I also started adding new fence planks grafted into the ugly chain link fence. New fence already looks 100% better. Pics tomorrow.

Vic, I hope you don’t give Dave any ideas about next years MIK challenge. That’s the thing, pics don’t really show how much work had to be done to get it to this point. But with the bamboo gone I was able to place the landscaping headers against the fencing, the PTDF runners for the new fencing which I already started placing. I can also start digging out for the inside walkway and placing the inside wood retaining walls. The biggest hindrance now is my cars limited carrying capacity. I need a boatload of fence pickets but I can only realistically carry 30 at a time. PTDF is even more restricted. It all has to rest of the folded forward front seat, and I have to be careful not to overload it. It’s times like this I realliy miss a pickup truck.

Yep, that was the first thing I had to do to clear out the area, I bolted wheel castors to the skids on the base so I can roll it around and created a small paved little alcove against the fence that filled another nasty little hole, its just out of shot here. Heading to Home Despot tonight to buy another stack of fence pickets.

Oh I can believe it. I had to get a guy with a stump grinder to get rid of the bamboo we had in the side yard. And a chainsaw to get it down to ground level.

Dang and blast it!!!, I’m almost done but it’s going to rain tomorrow, so I’m not going to finish this weekend! And I’m so close, all the new fencing is installed, I’ve got two of the inner wood retaining walls in place, and the other retaining walls cut to size, they just need to be screwed together, but I need a full day of good weather to finish digging out the inner walkway but it’s forecast to rain tomorrow. Blast!!!
Oh and I didn’t get to work on the station.
so, now Vic stays indoors and attempts to rehab the station before the deadline…

I dunno Dave, part of the issue is there are some missing parts that replacement would blow the budget also it’s a really huge structures. Bigger than my workbench can really handle so I will have to take the rebuilding alot slower.
Also I have to keep the momentum going outside, Stuff always gets in my way. That I’ve got it this far is amazing to me. So I’m just going forward as much as I can while I can.
Dare we ask to see pictures of your work shop, and your work bench…!!! Where is a proper picture of this CHIMNEY, you guys claim not to know where to put…?

HA HAA HAAHAHA! In my best Professor Fate laugh. The rains are late and I was up early. I have hit a major milestone ,as of now I have finished!.. my retaining walls.
The chimney is still sitting on the bench mocking me.
