yes keep pic’s coming. and if and when you get tired of it i have a 5 by 10 trailer now.
It will be awhile Richard Meanwhile got the rollup doors done for the 3 bays in the back side. A little pvc pipe and Sintra. It will probably be the weekend before it warms up enough to install them though. But I did get the loading dock painted so things are moving forward.

They’ll go here.

Ok… The doors are painted(you can see the doors at the top right of the 1st pic) And the frame to hold the roof is done…just need a warm day to finish the loading dock. Frame is 1/4" sq brass with 1/4" x 1/8" rectangle cross members. The columns are 1/4 tube that go into 1/4" sg receivers… The columns are not soldered in place. I’ll drill the platform to take the columns and then add 1" tall square sections at the base to control depth/height.
1/8" sintra for the roof.

More pics and a little progress. Got the holes drilled for the posts and checked the mounting. Next up is to solder the square sections to the bottom of the posts and then trim the ends so they don’t stick below the the platform overhang. Then painting and mounting of the parts, doors included. The figure is 1:22.5

It’s looking great. I have a comment though. The roll up portion of the bay doors is always on the inside of a building.
Ooh, there’s that ‘always’ word again.

P.S. By the way, Thanks for posting your build threads. I always learn a lot from them.
I guess I should have said they SHOULD be on the inside for protection from the weather and security. I personally have never seen it on the outside of a loading bay.
Never even thought about it. It was one of those lets add some detail things. Went online and did a quick picture search and found them on the outside with no problem. Though I will admit there were more pictures of them with the bits on the inside.
Joe Zullo said:Yea, most of the ones I've run across at loading docks are inside the building. That way the fork lift operator can open it and position the ramp. And it keeps the truck from backing into it and damaging it.

The pix Bob posted are at the entrance to garages, little bit different then a loading dock.
Long before a truck hits the doors it would have to take out the concrete dock and the roof…wait they’re both Azek…wait the trucks are toys…wait the whole thing is just pretend…my toys my rules.
Larry, nice Job… I like the building…
Yall have to remember, we are modeling, and there’s always an example somewhere of what we model…

I didn’t either.
And I second that.
I was just relating to what I’ve experienced over the years.
