UP 2906 Build

Richard;

You are correct. The locomotive was brown and yellow. Jerry noted earlier in the thread that he liked the gray and yellow passenger livery better. I tend to agree that the “what if” livery Jerry chose is more attractive, especially when coupled to matching streamlined coaches.

The prototype’s colors were more similar to the streamlined diesel-powered “city” trains of the 1930s.

Thanks Dave. I missed the earlier explanation by Jerry. I agree with you both on the what-if color scheme Jerry used. Really beautiful!

Hi Jerry:

I really like your steamlined loco project. Excellent job. I am not a fan of steamlined locos but this loco is very attractive. I don’t think that it is ugly at all.

The non streamlined Canadian Pacific 2800 series was beautiful. The streamlined Canadian Pacific Royal Hudson series looks like it is sucking a lemon! Accucraft modelled the streamlined Royal Hudson loco and they still have some in stock, surprise, surprise! The 2816 non-streamlined O Gauge version by Weaver sold out almost immediately.

The other ugly streamlined loco is that NYC Hudson with the upside down bath tub placed over the Hudson boiler. What were they thinking?

The Daylight is a beautiful streamlined loco.

Jerry, I am really impressed with your build.

Norman

I got to see Jerrys loco in person a couple of days ago, and its even more impressive! Great job!

Jerry that Rocks!!! Cannot wait to see some outside pics pulling cars~
