Being a steam-a-holic, please tell me what engine that is. I might be persuaded to purchase one and get it painted for that scheme. (Old timey Boy Scout.)

Bob,
I think it is a SD70.
USA Trains makes one.

its a Dash 9 not a SD70. Aristo Craft makes one.

Thanks Geoff. Had a major brain fart. I know Dash-9's. I've taken probably 500 photos of Dash 9's. Had a brain fart at the show the other day too :O Time to catch up on my sleep ;) Ralph

Ralph no problem. I only new it was a Dash 0 because I was just looking at one on Ebay. I got lucky with the timing. Tomorrow I wont be able to even tell you what I ate for dinner.

Ralph & Geoff, if I were to ever want to model ‘Modern Diesel Operations’ it would have to be Macs & Dash 9’s. But I will think I’ll stick with NG Steam

Actually its not a Dash 9. Its a newer GEVO unit a C45ACCTE to be exact. There are several differences, most noticeably in the radiator area.

Steve,
Not upset, but there were already two threads started on the site. One of which was moved from the general forum to the off topic forum. There is no need for three separate threads on the same topic.
If you are going to have decals made, make sure they are for a Dash 9 and NOT the loco pictured. You will run out of room on the radiator section for the lettering there. The GEVO pictured has a much larger cooling section than a Dash 9.
