Last two days of prep. Today I replaced one faulty switch throw and ran a couple trains to test things. Looking good so far.
I was trying to pry my girl down towards something fun like we had in Scranton or Steamtown last time. There is some kind of tent sale at Nicholas Smith too. Maybe some kind of loop of fun? A road trek again of sorts?
I used to live in Boston but I took the 12 hr? Amtrak train from Boston to Buffalo most all the times. I did the drive a few times in a truck on the major interstate anyways. Funny, now that I’m older, I can’t drive more than a few minutes without breaks.
I’m just brainstorming and it usually gets shot down. I did make the York show to meet Rooster and the guys awhile back only to find out Bob had just left.

Don’t forget Ken and Jon are coming so make sure the “end of track devices” are bolted down about 3’ deep!
Arrived in Peabody this afternoon… Looking forward to the weekend of Ops…

Praying that Massachusetts will be the same after you leave so I may someday enjoy it !
Have fun guys and post pics for Fred because he doesn’t
Glad you made it safe, but the way you say Peabody makes it hard for people to understand where you are. I assume you’ve already made at least one visit to your personal Mecca?

I knew exactly where he was since my next door neighbor was from Peebudy…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

And they say it in one syllable, somehow.
Just checked in at the HI Express in Hudson. I figure it must be the right place because Bruce’s car is parked out front. Mary’s sister is coming over to the hotel to pick her up. She will be visiting family all weekend while I play trains. See you all tomorrow afternoon.
Bob
And the “Traveling Outhouse Award” will be arriving tomorrow, too…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
( I forgot all about it when I went up to Fred’s)
The C.V.S.Ry. made some local equipment moves this evening and loaded a few locomotives and a caboose on to road carriers for the trip North. Our departure has been delayed a bit due to Marilyn needing to get blood work done in the morning while I work a few hours. We hope to be on the road by noon at the latest. About 2.5 hours from here to there so we’ll see y’all mid afternoon.
OK… so how did Friday work out…I hope the weather was favorable, and spirits were high…a report, even as short as a few words would be appreciated by many of us out here in the far-out regions…
It looks like the weather here in Ottawa is going to co-operate, today (Saturday) after-all. I hope the weather up near Boston works in your favour too.
Ahhh, nothing yet? They must still be playing hard. Maybe later tonight, or tomorrow.
Those guys in that area are not the best communicators, from past observations…
I’ve been busy hosting and organizing for the last two days. Today is over at Stan’s, so I can give a short report. Good run-what-u-brung on Friday, and we ran 14 trains in ops yesterday. No major issues, the new track is working well. A couple oddities with the manifests but nothing bad. Lots of pictures were taken but those will have to wait until those that took them get back to their computers.
Thank you for the “Good News”. At least we now know that things appear to have gone well.
TrainOps 2017 is now in the bag. We ran 14 trains over 3 sessions, and moved 3486 tons of freight. No real issues cropped up, considering we had 4 crews out on a railroad built for one or two crew ops. May have to stagger ops, or have signups, or something, so people arent standing around waiting for more to do.
There was also a bunch of talk about moving the date forward into July. Looking for opinions on that.
And a great time was had, that’s for sure! I’ll have pictures eventually, but traffic made the drive a lot longer than I wanted.
As for July, now that next year is “officially” open, I would enjoy going to Massachusetts on that date.

The typical Ken over dosing on coffee will not suffice Bruce. But I/we would love to see them when you find the time in your busy “retired” schedule.

I’m not sure how to respond. We decided Rooster is just a figment of our imaginations. Posts a lot ( although seldom saying much) but NEVER attends an OPS session.
