TrainOps 2011

Trying this again.

A reminder that TrainOps 2011 is coming up. Sept 16-18, 2011. Last year was so much fun, we decided it was worth doing every year.

We’ll even provide lunch Saturday (sandwich fare) and dinner Saturday (BBQ) . $10/day/person for food donation appreciated.

A few details.

Operations will start Saturday morning, around 9. We run two crews, one Eastbound, one Westbound. Trip length can take anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours, depending on your switching assignments, and how talented the crew is.

If you are bringing locomotives (please!), there is no track power.

We’ll break for lunch, and then knock off before dinner. If the desire is there, we’ll even operate some after dinner.

Sunday Stan Ames is opening his layout to us for operations.

And, somehow, you think this thread is safe from this crew? :stuck_out_tongue:

I have my hammer ready.

Well, Jean and I still plan to attend, even in this thread! :o

I guess I’ll bring a couple of locomotives. Sounds like everything else is in order.

Do I need tools this time?
Sean

No tools needed, unless you feel inclined to prune the dwarf Alberta spruce again!

OK, folks, I need a rough count to prepare for food, etc. Email me when you plan on being here and how many are coming.

Thanks!

Bob

I will be there Saturday all day

On Sunday the plan is to have a pot luck lunch around 12 or so and start operating at around 1PM. We can change the meal to after the session if that is preferred.

Stan

Excellent! Sounds great, Stan!

We’d really like to come again this year. Not certain if we can camp or not though. Still need to fix a problem with the trailer connector on my car and pull the wheels on the trailer for brake inspection & hub lube. It hasn’t been out at all this year.

We’ll let you know as soon as we can.

Recreating your dramatizations must be taking taking all of your time?

I put in a vacation request for Sat.
Will be told @ the last minute!
What Hrs Sat.?
Sean

Anytime after 9am. Figure first trains roll out around 10?

Bob
Time sounds good. Got your email. Got the messages on the lunch donation. I will bring a loco.

Great!

I just put in for Friday off. Still not sure we can camp or stay over. If not I’ll at least drive up for the day on Saturday - its under 3 hours.

Great! Getting close!

Oooh. That sounds good Jon. Any scraps this year??? ;)

Not much. Maybe some coroplast if anyone wants. After the East Coast show I stopped bringing so much stuff home - I ran out of places to put it ! If you can use small pieces of PVC I might have some of that “in-stock” to unload.

Yes, I loved those small scraps from last year - I’m almost out.
