Trackwork at Pearce

Bob, did you make your own points, or buy them somewhere? If so, where did you buy them?

That switch has points and a frog from Llagas Creek. I really hate making my own points. Frogs arent so bad.

No kidding! You try running this site for 11 years and see how fast YOUR hair falls out. :)
Did it FALL out or did you PULL it out? :)

Womans work. :)

Dropped the new switch in place this morning. The tail of the track, which contains a coal dump, will get straightened out, and Ill build the coal trestle eventually.

Digging this thread up again. Pearce has had a couple bad switches. I rebuilt three of them, and installed two so far. The lead off the main, and the spur to Goodson’s. I need to replace the RH at the other end of the runaround also.

Best get a Hustling as Trainops is getting close… hehehe (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Dont I know it. Minimum work is replace one switch at Pearce, install two switches at OakHill, and get all the switch throws in place (maybe 15). Up from there is get the trackwork at 28th Street (or whatever Im going to call it) down on the benchwork. Beyond that is get the signals working at Williamsport, but that probably wont happen.

I’ve really enjoyed getting peaks around your layout this summer. It’ll be great to get up to ops one of these times. How old are the switches your redoing?

You know, there was a time a few months back when you never would have caught me saying this, but I miss laying switches. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-frown.gif)

When did we all come up there for your work session? 2008? 2010? 5 years maybe? And been through some tough winters…(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

2008 I think, so yea, theyve been down for a while.

I have it on May 2010.

Looked a bit different back then.
