Trackwork at Pearce

Yea, no 40 foot cars, not that I have many of them. That combined with a “no fouling the main when switching Pearce” will make getting cars in and out of Goodson’s Batteries interesting…

Some more work at Pearce today. A look back down toward the interchange. The siding for Goodson’s batteries is on the far right, just half the spline right now.

The other direction, toward the coal dump at the end of the runaround tail

and a view from the coal dump. Goodson’s Batteries will be in the dirt area on the right.

For once, you’re making it easier instead of more difficult…

Can I quote you on that next time you’re up here, and swearing at the switchlist?

Track installed and leveled. Now for back-filling and building pads.

True, no more switching out a HUGE string of cars and fouling the main to get work done. Smatter of fact, there's now a "No fouling the main when switching Pearce" rule. :)

cool…

Gee Bob it looks like I’ll have to come out and do some tree work ! Sean

The one on the left there is the one you did last year!

Looks great Bob. Looking forward to working it again.

Nice

I ran the 45 tonner with 4 cars in tow, and one each at the tail and at Goodson’s batteries. Very fun switching cars out. With a longer locomotive, it’ll be even more interesting. Sorry guys!

At TrainOps this past fall, we found out that two out of the four switches serving Pearce branch needed work. This is the one from the end of the passing siding, near the coal dump. Its been rebuilt and ready to go back in the ground.

Next up, building a #8 to replace the #6 that heads off the main.
