Top secret spy pics taken in the CVRR shops

So the CVRR needed a MOW loco but all on the roster were currently in service , the budget did not allow for a new or used loco however they did have a Peterbuilt cab that the C.E.O. aquired in a card game that just sat at the main office parking lot. So they decided to contact Brandt Rail to modify this tractor for rail service however Brandt was back logged for months so the CVRR decided to steal Brandt’s propertiary rights and build their own roadrailer which is still currently under development. They are “Spy Photos”

Sweet Rig. Did you go to the dark side?

Does it run???

And are 4 axles necessary? Doesn’t appear the bed is big enough to handle the weight that 4 axles would accommodate.

But it does look kewl!!

We’ve got a number of those around here. Lots of sizes and some that can pull 3 or 4 freight cars. Very cool!

Looking real good Dave. Hows the rubber contact on the duals? The single tire fronts seem to be nicely centered on the rail.

Maybe it needs a plow…

Actually Jon I over heard the boys in CVRR shops talking about a Tie Loader which is necessary for future expansion and finishing up their deck truss bridge. The beauty of this truck is you can accessorize it all you want by simply removing and installing another accessory.

THE ROOSTER HAS SPOKEN!

Maybe it “needs” the 4 axles for the best number of contact points in applying its horsepower to the rails?

Well if you get caught and there’s any stink about it just sweep it under the rug.

Very clever conversion by the way.

After seeing the picture of the real one pulling all those cars, that's what I would assume, too.

As a rooster wouldn't that be original KFC

So I was scrubbing the restroom floor in the shops today when I over heard two of the crew talking back and forth in the stalls. So while whistling and continuing to mop I heard them say that the roadrail truck was going out for a test run this afternoon and they were going to work the bugs out of their newly built accessory? So I decided to take a late lunch and sneak behind the bushes for a few shots.

IS THAT ANDY CLARKE DRIVING THE RIG??

That’s all I was able to get as my lunch break was over…

Looks great.

As a lowly janitor you might not know, but perhaps you overhead in the shops if this runs under it’s own power?

I don’t see a motor block under there, so maybe not. Still a neat idea and very prototypical.

I’m not quite sure I understand your question? It has 2 rear axles contacting the rail and the motor is under the hood?

Matt although most on this site sing the narrow guage songs I’m sure some of us would enjoy the Santa Fe equipment mods you’ve done.

You might want to warn that operator to put the outriggers down before swinging that crane around and lifting anything. Don’t wanna see that thing laying on it’s side after just coming from the shop…
