Here we go again. Winter Storm watches are up for thursday night into friday. Calling for 5-10 inches of snow. And its not an April fools joke either. Grrrrrrrrrr
I guess the rain we’re getting today will be snow when it gets to you in NJ.
Quite a bit of rain here today.
Ralph
Strange as it may seem, in this green and fertile land, we have rain today. It is needed: it has been exceptionally dry in this part of England all through March.
The only drawback is no train running. Anyway it will give me an opportunity to start a project, for the railroad, that has been on the back burner for a while.
Forecast for Friday is 6-12" of heavy wet snow. Someone shoot me, please.
Snowed at 7 am. Sunshine at 8 am. 62 by Saturday. I love Spring.
I’m hoping we dodge the frozen stuff. Intellicast says Rain. The local TV weathermen are saying it is too close to call. I had a nightmare about driving in a 8"/hour snowfall last night
Ric - we all know that Carlyle has the best spring weather of any place on earth
“we all know that Carlyle has the best spring weather of any place on earth big_smile”
Looks like the tourist information is working. 76 and sunny every day of the year with a gentle breeze blowing from the south. Sometimes this is outdoors and sometimes its indoors.
We are not only dry but high 70s this afternoon. It may be 89 by tomorrow! And only a little cooler by the weekend. But it’s making the weeds grow about two inches a day!
It got up to at least 85 here today.
Snowing here right now… 6+" predicted…shoot me

Bob, I don’t see Littleton on your map, there. Are you sure that you heard it right?
Bob,
I saw that forecast for all you guys from the original Colonies, pretty amazing.
They lowered my totals but still could see up to 4 inches. Currently moderate snow and 1 inch so far at my house. 2 inches on the ridge tops.
Here in Ottawa, we have balmy temperatures, and every-so-often a light rain. The melt is almost complete. No flooding.
We dodged this one. Just a dusting in the hills by my house, but none at work and roads were clear coming in at 6:30 - Still crappy out but promise for a gorgeous weekend.
it was 102 yesterday and they are saying 95 to 101 today. Right now that snow is looking good to me.
It was 38 here yesterday & Snow 39 today & rain. Trade you.
I’m stuck in this storm.
David
I was curious about the location of Littleton as it did not appear on the map. As we were dealing with a location in the Unites States my immediate thought was of Colorado. I know of two places in England with the same name viz: one in Cheshire and another in Gloucestershire.
Referring back to the map I note that half of the place names shown are familiar large town (or city) names in England. I wonder how they are pronounced in Massachusetts?
Here Leominster is pronounced Lemster, Worcester is Wooster (no Jeeves jokes lol), Gloucester is Gloster and the other three are straightforward. I live 30 miles east of the original and ancient Port of Plymouth. (1625 and all that).
Leominster is Lemonster, Worcester is Wooster, and Gloucester is Gloster. Leicester is Lester. Lots of Olde Worlde pronunciations around here.
Littleton, on that map, is about where the ‘st’ in Leominster is.
Heck Alan, check out Springfield or Washington, I think most States have one. A real popular county name is Pulaski.
