It may be too early to tell, but it might just have ended, finally.
63F & sunny today. Got out of work at 4:30 and was able to run 3 trains “out and back” before dark. There are only a few small patches of snow left and the Crocuses are flowering 
It was shorts and no shirt weather here today. Cherries, Peaches and quite a few other plants starting to bloom. Ran a train for about 5 hours straight while I pulled weeds and piddled on the RR. Ralph

This weather is great. I would have ran some trains but had to work until 9pm. Going to be another great day but cold again and a chance of snow next week.

Woke once again to maderate snow. So far a 1/2 inch. Now weather forcast are calling for a bigger snow storm wed/thur with possibly 10 inches. This is the reason why I hate March. It teases you.
Now we have winter storm warnings up for tonight into tomorrow. 4-8 inches of snow predicted. Then another possible snow storm Sunday. What is this January.
Jon I think you are going to get this as well.
We had a dusting of snow but that was after 70 mph winds and two inches of rain. And this is desert!
Maybe it’ll warm up enough today and I’ll do a damage inspectopn of the layout.
It ended at 1630 on 3/20/11, locally. So its over.
What you may see now are just Spring Snow Showers, cold fronts and abnormally cool weather followed by extremely hot unbearable weather. Enjoy the moment as if it was your last.

Once again woke up to an inch of snow and going to snow all day. Winter storm warnings up for 8-12 inches. Going to be a fun day at work. no train running today.
Shawn if it makes you feel better it was 41 this morning for me and there talking rain.
Now keep in mind this is the desert and it rained monday on me as well.

To follow the theme of this thread:
Winter is not even close to ending here in coastal N. California. We experienced winds up to ~50 mph last Saturday night. Power was off in the village and at our house for over 24 hours. Still outages at some of our slightly more remote friend’s houses. Best estimate is that all will be restored by this coming Friday.
Meanwhile, rain every day. Some really hard. Big storm moving in at the moment, with winds up to 35mph and lots of rain predicted overnight.
10 day forecast shows some rain every day. No outdoor RRing in my near term future!

We ended up with 6 inches of snow. I little less then the 8-12 NOAA was predicting. Temps are only going to be in the 30’s next few days and night temps in teens. Come on spring im done with this snow.
The rain seems to have gone away on our part of the desert for a few hours. The last of the rain is supposed to be Saturday and I’ll get to run trains after that!
Rain last weekend, rain yesterday, tonight, tommorrow and right on to Monday. My front yard is growing like crazy and everyday I’m off its bloody raining!!
