The trendy lefties are at it again

I just have to express my utter disgust at the latest bile coming from these creatures .
Their leftie paper today “exposed” a video , played ad nauseum on the Sky news channel , of a “friendly fire” incident involving the killing of a British soldier by American A10 pilots in Iraq. “Actual combat footage” leaked by some troll --wanna bet the Americans will never trust issuing combat footage to friendly governments again ?
Anything to try pushing a wedge between allies .
So , to our American Friends , we do understand that accidents happen .
Probably better if you ignore the rantings of “scoop getters” .

Mike

And from an Old Soldier, I’m sorry for the lost of a Comrade in Arms.

Most of this type of news coverage comes from the bar at the hotel where the cowardly news reporter sits and makes up the news while brave men try to make the World safe.

I would hardly call the Daily Sun and Sky News leftie.
They are owned by Rupert Murcdoch.
You know. That dude who supports Dubya and his minions with the Fox News Network.

Now , Tony , you should know what a leftist paper the Sun is , no matter who owns it .
Similarly , Sky does a pretty good job of knocking anything remotely conservative , or even illiberal .

Murdoch has got where he is by playing both ends against the middle , a true socialist who made big money out of pandering to tastes as they are seen to change . He is in it for the money , like his socialist friends .

Mike

I have mixed emotions about it. While I don’t think the death of a soldier should be the nightly entertainment, I do think the truth needs to be made public. Unfortunately the US government has a bad habit of covering up the truth and lying about everything. Think about the poor pilot who came to the realization that he had just killed a friendly…“I’m gonna be sick”. The US government way of handling this incident would be to hide the truth and make the pilot the scapegoat for the whole f*up. Turn him into a hot rod rocket jockey that shoots at anything that moves and destroy his career.

While my sympathies go to the British soldier’s family, I also feel really bad for the pilot who has to live the rest of his life with the knowledge that he killed a fellow soldier.

Mike, if we had honest, ethical governments this kind of stuff wouldn’t be necessary.

Sadly, me too. Both sides of the isle have this problem.

Sticking to the origimal point , do not let anyonr divide our loyalties to the Allied troops .
Loyalty works both ways , don’t forget that .
We owe our support to that pilot just as much as we owe it to the soldier’s family .
“The Media” god help us , would have it otherwise . Anything for a story in general , and an objective for those with agendas .

Mike

ps as an aside , nowhere near as much publicity was given to the plot to kidnap and behead a Muslim soldier serving in the British Army in this country

No, they flooded OUR news with it. It was top story for several days on CNN (internet).

Mike,
That makes both you and he hypocrites.
He, for taking both sides.
You, for believing the parts of the Murdoch BS he puts out that suits you, and not believing what does not suit you.

I don’t care about the politics of individuals. Left - Right is irrelevant.
The only thing that matters in life is whether they are honest or not.
Honest people tend to behave correctly when it matters most.

The next thing I suppose you will tell us is that the enviromentalism movement is just one big Communist conspiracy to take away your gas guzzling SUV’s.

You need to get over your paranoia.

Tony, Does he have an SUV, one and only picture I saw was him riding a battery powered “whatever”, you can’t get more environmentally friendly than that …- except Fr. Fred would now mention the methane. But even that could be converted to hydrogen… a very “winning situation” all the way around.

Tony, just because I am paranoid doesn't mean that THEY are not out to get me!

How’s that for Solipsism?

I was actually referring to Mikes paranoia.
He demonstrates it. You don’t seem to.

If you truly believe that only you are always right, metaphysically speaking, then it depends on who THEY are to determine whether or not it is solipsism.

Tony,
I’m not sure how you arrived at these conclusions. Care to help out this old sailor?

BTW, the environmentalism movement is designed to return us to the bad old days. All you have to do is analyze their claims and projected solutions, and then project what would happen to the world’s economy if that were to be implemented.

The following from my favorite author, Robert Heinlein, apply:
–“The capacity of the human mind for swallowing nonsense and spewing it forth in violent and repressive action has never yet been plumbed.” Revolt in 2100

--"Violence never settles anything."

“So? I’m sure the city fathers of Carthage would be glad to know that.” Starship Troopers

--"Rules, laws — always for other fellow. A murky part of us, something we had before we came down out of trees, and failed to shuck when we stood up. Because not one of those people said: "Please pass this so that I won't be able to do something I know I should stop." Nyet, tovarishchee, it was always something they hated to see neighbors doing. Stop them "for their own good" — not because speaker claimed to be harmed by it." The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress

--"Being intelligent is not a felony. But most societies evaluate it as at least a misdemeanor." Notebooks of Lazurus Long.

--"Does history record any case in which the majority was right?" ibid.

--"Expertise in one field does not carry over into other fields. But experts often think so. The narrower their field of knowledge the more likely they are to think so." ibid.

--"Taxes are not levied for the benefit of the taxed." ibid.

--"There are hidden contradictions in the minds of people who "love Nature" while deploring the "artificialities" with which "Man has spoiled 'Nature.'" The obvious contradiction lies in their choice of words, which imply that Man and his artifacts are not part of "Nature" — but beavers and their dams are. But the contradictions go deeper than this prima-facie absurdity. In declaring his love for a beaver dam (erected by beavers for beavers' purposes) and his hatred for dams erected by men (for the purposes of men) the Naturist reveals his hatred for his own race — i.e., his own self-hatred.

In the case of “Naturists” such self-hatred is understandable; they are such a sorry lot. But hatred is too strong an emotion to feel toward them; pity and contempt are the most they rate.
As for me, willy-nilly I am a man, not a beaver, and H. sapiens is the only race I have or can have. Fortunately for me, I like being part of a race made up of men and women — it strikes me as a fine arrangement — and perfectly “natural” Believe it or not, there were “Naturists” who opposed the first flight to old Earth’s Moon as being “unnaturaI” and a “despoiling of Nature.” ibid.

--"Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.

This is known as “bad luck.” ibid.

OK, I’ll stop here.

I am a Conservative. I believe that to be a true conservative, I must also be a conservationist. I have no truck with the environmentalists who want to control my life by forcing me to live at the dawn of the 20th Century.

OTOH, that was the zenith of the railroad, so it might not be that bad…

Mike,
Here in Texas,
we would call him a:
CAPITALIST.

Here’s a quote you might add to your repertoire:

“No matter how hard the Wind of Evil blows,
it cannot extinguish the Flame of Truth.”
(the Dalai Lama)

If my memory serves me, this is not the first time that your Tommie’s
have been on the recieving end of American friendly fire…
I seem to recall something similar occcured in Afganistan a couple years ago…
Not quite so much fuss made about it at the time,
the blood lust of the Chicken Hawks, the Righteousness of the War against “Ter’rism”
and the Axis of Evil, clouded peoples minds.

Dave…
