We only got a dusting again… but that translates into those “conserve water” warnings all summer.
I agree… Many rely on that Clearfield County and other northern ones for their snow melt runoff down here closer to the Mason Dixon line.
So, as I was shoveling the walks today in the nice warm sunshine I was thinking that this was a nice little end to winter blast. Maybe I’ll get the plow out and try and clear the line.
Got around the other side of the house and noticed Marilyn and I had both had a car accident - while parked in the driveway!!! Some time during the night my car slid about 4 feet down the hill and kissed hers. No major damage, but my front bumper cover is all messed up and her license plate is pointing to the sky.
Not so happy about this storm now.
We have a blizzard forecast for tonight here in Nebraska. Had just finally all melted away!
got my track clear enough for a run today here in Maine!!! we have had a couple of weeks of unsettled weather with light snowfalls many nights which melted by nightfall except on the foot or so ob base which has been around since the beginning of February. Rain forecast for Monday should knock back the snow banks!

Jon thats not good. Lets hope our snow is done for the season (although we still have up till the first week of April)
Its amazing how fast the March sun will melt the snow away, even with temps below freezing. Yesterday I ran some steam in a T shirt and I even got red on my face. Im ready for the nice weather now. I have some repairs to make to the line, being burried for a long period will do it.
Eric I hope you took some video.

Wow…that blows
I think in the future you might be wise to put a little rock salt down behind the tires when it’s slick
Ralph
Never had that problem before. I think it was because it was above freezing when I parked, with one tire in the snow. Overnight it got cold enough to freeze solid and somehow break free. I could have parked on dry pavement but chose not to. Dumb mistake.

I had that happen one night in a line truck. Parked near the side of the road, my partner got out to put some “Work Area” signs up and while he was doing that, the truck slid sideways against the bank. He had a heckova time getting back in the truck…
Our old, big green van was at the end of the driveway one morning. Slid about 60 feet during the night, but hit nothing, just right down the driveway. So icy, we couldn’t get to it until afternoon. Weird feeling when you see it. Jon, I’m sure you were looking around trying to figure out who was shooting the video on you.
A while back, Ric and I pulled up into the driveway at Mark’s house on a Friday evening to operate on his railroad… I parked on the slope, and we were sitting in the truck talking, when all of a sudden the truck started sliding backwards…
Needless to say, I moved the truck to a dry spot, before we went into the house…
77 and clear today
…but it was cold and raining last Friday.
59 and overcast. Next up, rain and falling temps. Snow by Weds. Typical weird March weather
We’re in the 70s thus week but last Friday we had snow! I had a beautiful day running trains on the club layout Sunday. Who knows, it may snow next week!
The glacier is finally receding, here in beautiful downtown Deer Park. I have about 20 continuous feet of track showing, now.
Keep it to short runs!
Been snowing lightly all day. Covered the grass again.
Thought the sky was falling Sunday, but it was just the MWR drawbridge. I came up too soon after crawling under. Ow.
Winter does not want to let go yet. Woke up to 6+ inches of more snow.
If the pollen induced massive sinus congestion I have been suffering from over the last few days is any indication, HERE spring has most definitely arrived.
Got 5" here in CT.
Was snowing when we went to bed last night. Got a text early this AM - No work today. It’s not that bad; got maybe 4, then rain; then sleet and snowing again now. Boss just needs an excuse to cut payroll as it’s been slow.
I brought this on - I put the plow train away for the season on Sunday :{
