Large Scale Central

The OFFICIAL Summer Photo Thread

Lets post 'em up! The day saw 125 pulling a special express consisting of freshly outshopped composite reefer 512 and the Triple Combine…

Wait a minute…whats that on 125’s tender?

Some sort of HIDEOUS BEAST!!! and accompanied by a NOXIOUS ODOR…

Since we’re not due a water stop anytime soon…its decided to let the express continue on its way…

Some fine feathered friends too advantage of the amenities…

Even a powered parachutist dropped by for a look…

Rooster,

Very unique titles on your videos

When you posted “Crap” and then I see the dog, naturally I thought…

Great pictures Bart. Nice Dog Roos; good thing he doesn’t get his nose any closer. I need to finish some switch maintenance I started a week ago in order to run again.

Good stuff so far. Guess I better get out and shoot some pictures.

Looking good gents.

I think I just might post a few my self. Ron.

You guys are killing me! 10" of rain in the last 2 days, 3 clear days since the beginning of March. Horrid winter, terrible spring. I think I’ve managed to run twice this year.

Time to move… :frowning:

Beautiful sunshine here in Tennessee. I just had to shoot some pics.

Here is my second attempt at Little River RR #110.

My first attempt flew off the rails right here at the incomplete RR bridge at Nelson’s Gap. Happened last summer ,in fact, due to operator error and some of my first attempts at radio control.

Worked all winter building the bridge and completely redid #110 this spring using a $35 chassis from B.Mann

The black tubular affair is not a Tennessee black snake, but rather a “soaker” hose as these are all new plants on the north side of Nelson’s Gap

Hope you all are enjoying your summer.

Doc Tom

I am far from a pro at taking pictures or building garden railroads, but I do like how this picture came out today.

Nothing green yet on my railway as it is only about 6-weeks old, but hopefully this coming September we should start some planting.

Nice shots guys.

Oh the humanity!

First, on another thread, a shark swims by narrowly missing the train, now a huge bull nearly bites a chunk out of Amtrak!!

Urggg. I can’t watch.

Matt, where did you find the period van parked at the depot? I’d love one of those for my layout.

It’s a diecast van I painted and decaled. The van is a 1940s Suburban (1:25 scale) I found on eBay. Some more info on the painted and lettering can be found here:

I ran my Live Steam Lumberjack today pulling some log cars. Day was cloudy but warm. Was going to run the Cricket but the sky started to get drk.
