Ok, so what’d ya get? I got a set of cutting edge guides from Micromark, both 12 and 22" , a locomotive battery from Cordless Renovations, 10 sets of KD Couplers, 4 sets of O scale Vulcan trucks, a CD of contemporary railroad songs, and a set of steam railroad DVDs…
No train loot for me, but I did get SWMBO a big lighthouse for the garden.
A new compressor for the shop and a couple LL Bean fleece shirts.
A USA 60’ box car.
All good…
Got 2 gift certificates to my favorite LS hobby shop. Also got 3 really nice birdhouse buildings.
A huge 24" clock with a steam engine motif and some scrub pads for the track were my only train gifts. I did buy myself 2 more LiIon packs and another pair of Del’s RailBoss ESC units with the proceeds of some recent train sales.
I received the best gift, I was able to spend another Christmas with my wife who is battling cancer. Hoping for many more!! Regal
A German dealer had some “specials” on before Christmas, I got the parcel from the post office on Friday. The not so ordinary: 3 marmots and an Alphorn player. Need to get a sound unit for the Alphorn and then tape the neighbour – yes, he tortures an Alphorn.
Oh yeah, the dealer also enclosed the pertinent catalogues; which means the next batch of goodies will be ordered this week. Most of it stuff for kitbashing and scratch building. It will be a super-busy winter!
I got a few Lemax figures, a '57 Chevy staketruck (well on it’s way to being a dump truck already!), a '63 Lincoln, some junky tools, and a gas card.
Kim got some chocolate beer (blech!), and an electric staple gun/pin nailer (It came in the mail and she said, “MINE!”…)
I got a heritage steam engine for my Tom Thumb project I plan on doing. I also got a new watch that I was need of. Best of all I did not have to work this Christmas. I got to spend it with my wife and kids.
I recieved a two wheel cart, a couple shirts, and a ticket for a glider ride
socks, crappy ties, underwear…the usual…

I bought my favorite present from Ralph!I got a real nice steam engine calendar and then was at Orchard Supply Hardqare today and got another they did for 2012 that is trains too!
I did much better this year. Instead of just a rock like last year I got a bigger rock and two lumps of coal! Santa left a note…something about eating his cookies and drinking his hot cider.
Dee and I got all our far-flung children and grandchildren together in our home for an old-fashioned family Christmas! What fun we had…
As for train stuff, well…that’s really my department. I’ve got my eye on some battery packs and electronics for a diesel I’m scratch building.
A good season, indeed!
Steve
Yes, Amen, Jerry.
I’m glad John commented.
Life is the gift at Christmas.
Best to you and your wife.

My sole railroad-themed Christmas gift came from my long-time penpal in Fleet, Hampshire, England. It is a book about Beeching, the Axe-Man of British Railways. Those of you who may know anything about the early railway nationalization period will realize that this is not a pleasant topic, but the book has wonderful illustrations and photos, so it should be a good read.
Best,
