Nice pics guys.
No snow, but lots of freezing rain. Enough to close schools (which isn’t really that much).
No train pics - that would mean I’d have to go outside…but here’s what it looks like from my patio.
Ice here too. Not fun getting to the main road at 7AM. Walking across the parking lot at work was a challenge (as was stopping in the paring place).
grandsons school on 2hr delay middletown, con.
Schools closed up here. Missed out on the snow but got freezing rain, still icing up as I type ugh… snow in forecast for tomorrow maybe 3-6 inches.
Looks like another round of snow today. Just took this picture.
Seeing some of you guys have or are expecting snow I think this might be a nice reminder of snow and roads.

Shawn, your railroad pc looks like a great Christmas card. It is lovely.
I know I pull these photos out every year, but it isn’t easy for me to get out to our place in Colorado during the winter months. I might this year, but not 100% sure yet. If so, I hope to get some new winter layout photos.

Sure is beautiful when I can get out there:
Nice photos guys. We got a inch or 2 today but it is heavy and will ice up over night so no plowing fun tomorrow. Here is a photo from last year of the rotary in action throwing snow.

Matt your workers might be better off to let it melt.
Plow is ready for tomorrows snow. The guys are taking a break by the fire. 6-10 in the forecast.
The snow has begun here, but the ice we received last week never melted, so there’s not much chance of a successful plow run. Forecast s for 3-13. In other words, they have no idea.
We don’t get a lot of snow here in the desert, but when we do, it makes for great pictures. Even the Paparazzi are out.

I had to scrape the ice off my rails the other day. Plowing was not easy because when the snow first started it must have melted and froze on the rails even though the snow is powdery.
The CVSRy MOW Crew put together a double ended plow train today with hopes of clearing the line before the current storm dumped more than they could handle. Step one, get the train outdoors to get cold, but protect it from falling snow…
Once the train was sufficiently cooled, warm batteries were installed and we get under way…
Just a few hundred yards into the job the crew remembered why they had petitioned management for a more powerful loco for use in plow service. The old Geep looks and sounds great, but it just doesn’t have the traction needed to pull the grade and push snow at the same time. The NW SD-45 was cut in to help out…
As expected, 1764 has the traction to get the job done…
Still editing what little video I was able to grab. If I come with any thing presentable I’ll add it to Shawn’s plowing thread in the Video forum. Ended up quitting long before reaching Indian Hill due to heavy falling snow - I was concerned about the transmitter getting wet.
Looks good Jon. My guys could have used another engine for some help. Might have to RC the Big John.
And I’ll throw a coupla more logs on the fire…
Nice pics Nick. I like the background of the first pic.Ron
Ron where’s your snow pics
