Last year I wanted to participate in the Mik, but I couldn’t think of anything (of course, three weeks later, I had several ideas…). Hopefully, this year, I’ll be able to come up with something!

Aw man! I got the itch real bad. So far I’ve got 3 train build thingies i could do and two building thingies I could do, all depending on what the actual challenge is. Hurry up January! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Vic, I might suggest you go ahead with those projects to give the rest of us something to watch and marvel.

Besides, it might be fun having no idea what you might build in January.:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: (I couldn’t find a muahahaha emoji)

33 Days. But who’s counting

I had to dig out my deep storage of styrene the other day to get my last 4x4 piece of 1/8" styrene out. I didn’t realize how low I was on the thicker stuff. Got lots of .040 and .060 still.

I might have to restock before January!

BTW, a 1/8" sheet gives a nasty plastic/paper cut.

Just got back from 9 days at the Colorado Railroad Museum, running 315 for the “Polar Express” Show…

Reminder there is only 24 days left till MIK 2026… Keep hoarding all the things you just might think you will need while they are FREE…

Hmm, another clue dropped. “While they are free.” As opposed to buying them after the program begins? Or maybe it’s free in the sense of free-form, as in non-rectilinear? Or freedom from the usual, like, something fanciful, not bound by history or physics? Or perhaps using something that was expensive to get, but in need of an opportunity to employ?

I don’t know if I’ll enter the race, but as always will be fascinated in watching it.

OK GANG…

This is your official 15 Day Heads UP…

2026 MIK in just 15 more days…

BRING ON THE MIK!!!

AHHHH! 14 days at this point ! I need another bottle of Tightbond 3 and … ??? What will the challenge be?

I also need to clear the top of my work area of the current project, a slope back tender for my camelback. I was inspired by the old timey coal station photo that Bob put up in his post.

Considering I’ve always gone over time and budget with my MIK challenges, I say I’m ready. I have way too many other irons in the fire at the moment despite my attempt to not have that many.

Isn’t having too many projects a requirement for this hobby? I thought it was…

Love the Hershey’s Alcohol… Now there’s a Double reason to love chocolate…!!!

They make great 91% alcohol dispensers however at that time my son was about 11yrs old and if he walked into my shop and saw the Hersheys Syrup bottle he would have been squeezing it down his throat before I could say NOOOO… hence the green label with BOLD print on it.

Well I hit the shops and picked up sheet styrene and various selection of basswood. I should be ready, ive held off 5 kitbash projects ideas, of course not knowing the subject who knows what will happen. But at least I should be good for materials. To keep my sanity I’m renovating some of the buildings salvaged from the outside layout that will be reused on the indoor layout
