Ah bottom pic upper right needs a shelf or two.
Boomer, how can you get anything done in that shop? There’s not enough chaos!!!
Gee, I am too ashamed to take, much lest post, pictures of my shop in total chaos. Somewhere I do have a picture of my shop all cleaned up, I took that picture right after I built it.
You know your shop is messy when you see a tiger snake moving around the floor through the many half finished jobs!

A shop has to have a bar fridge, with several pints of a reasonable bheer in it…you cannot hope to complete a project, without a bheer to celebrate success…or at least to have one or two to treat your visitors…at least a can of root bheer would serve, in any case…
…a cool spot under the work bench would be a fine place to keep several bottles of cheap whine too…dust won’t hurt it as long as it’s corked…!!
Ye-ha, think I finely found my lost pair of glasses. third pic down. please fed-ex overnight!
I don’t know, Boomer. It seems like you know exactly where everything is at!
Besides, a clean shop is either one that is unused, or a sign of a sick mind!
Lou I agree. Besides, now that its not 5 with a wind chill of -30 outside, I tend to work outside on the table while watching the trains go round.
Boomer, Boomer, you decept me…
there is some wood in plain view, that can only be your workbench!
please read the upper left on the billboard.
Looks good to me. I always start a new project with a clean shop but doesn’t take long to be a complete disaster with multiple projects.
Shawn I tried that, but it takes too long to totally clean off the workbench. So I usually start with a clean area about 2 foot by 1 foot that soon gets cluttered
My Missus cleaned my shop, ONCE, . Did it while I was at work. Took me 2 months to find everything and get it back to the way I had it. She said she did it because it looked messy. I explained to her that I don’t even need to look half the time for some tool because it is where I left it last on the bench. She still don’t get it!!!
I would add a picture here of my shop, but I think my camera buried under the mess…somewhere…
Been there…done it…returned to usual chaos in 3 months!!!
Soon be time to have another cleanup…and so it goes on…
Who wants to clean their shop? It was on my Winter to do list but guess what not much got cleaned up. I tell my wife that I take after my grandfather and his fine tradition of burying the bench until there is only about a 12x12 inch bare spot left then it is time to clean up but just enough for the current project to fit. The piles do pose an avalanche list though. I gave up on keeping my benches clear and cut a piece of masonite to fit the table saw top and that is my bench. If I need the saw I lift the masonite piece and project and balance it on a stool. My grandfather would be proud.
Isn’t this

Youve seen my shop, Ken. Do I need to post pictures? Oh, the door to the outside is now blocked with a set of book shelves that need refinishing. Too many projects…
This is freakin disgusting!
Taken this morning, standing in the center, pointing camera at the four sides.

I did similar with bath towel over the saw and a piece of plywood cut to fit. Problem is, this then becomes a great place for the chop saw and other assorted bits to collect. If I need the table saw it’s always a project to clear it off.
The saws and my heavy workbench are in the garage that hasn’t seen a car in over 20 years. My train room workbench is generally pretty neat; except the perimeter :]
