The march of the Eggliners

I just had to post this picture of five Eggliners on the club layout on Sunday. I agree that Eggliners are out of touch with our layouts but they do attract the attention of kids and they are an inexpensive way to attract kids to G scale railroading.

Look Roosters ladybug eggliner is leading the line. LOL

Hey Doug,

The eggliners look good, but I’m more interested in “Our Club Layout”. How big is it and where is it located? Can you post some pictures?

Chuck

I have a few pictures but there is a full description at lnwrr.org. The layout is still in development but it’s in full operation. All that needs added is the plants which the nursery is going to do, I would expect this winter. We run on Saturdays and Sundays.

It’s really great how many are turning out on the weekends to see what we are up to.

One of the other features combines my two hobbies – trains and rocks. We are constructing a stone viaduct on the lower loop. We have been cutting slabs of rock at home and taking our portable lapidary unit to the layout to cut 1/2" by 1" “bricks.”

It’s going to take awhile to build but it will be something to see when it’s done.

The layout is in Palmdale, Calif.

I wonder how long we could make that line?

Stop it!!! I can't handle eggliners!!!

But you will upset the hens, Rooster

I think, next spring at York, anyone who has eggliners should go to Roosters house and run them on his layout…

Cluck cluck!

Great idea Andy!!! That should ruffle up the boy’s feathers a bit more. Especially if you post pictures here.

I'll buy one just to run at Rooster's and gift it to his wife for her wonderful hospitality :D Ralph

Ralph, I can see it now, Rooster’s wife with a full fleet of Egg Liners taking over the CVR.

Just think, she could have one in every color!

At one time, I tried hatching a dozen Eggliners…it was not successful. I gave up.
Yes I did wear a Rooster costume, to try to help the hatching…
The whole experiment was documented on this web page…the experiment was stretched over about 3 weeks.
Failure was blamed, at the time, on the lack of proper directions, for hatching, on the shipping boxes. Mr.Polk was not in any way helpful when asked for proper directions. We even asked the Aristo Bear for help, but he/she/it just squatted, then left…leaving a puddle on the floor.
Any new experiments directed towards the hatching of Eggliners, is not recommended.

Rooster hatched from an eggliner.

Doug sent me a hatched eggliner. Inside the shell is the same brick they used for the lil critter. Mine grew up into this, and left home…

I would call it a clutch of eggliners, just sounds right, well better than a murder of crows

And if they derail it would be called an omelet
