Suspension or ban?

I’ve always said life is to short to worry about piddly things or what folks say. Takes more than that to make me move on. Sorry to see ya leave but your choice. Later RJD

…and that’s all I am going to say…

Not sure what all the hub bubs about but upon experimenting i noticed that 1 person could easily rate a single person with the reputation thingy by hundreds if not by the thousands…

For example if i go to one of roosters very long threads and give him a rep on every single post he has in it, his numbers would soar from just one person, which i think was a part of a problem here, but then again, i have been getting ready for York and haven’t followed the forum as close as in the past.

I think that one way to “fix” the reputation issue would be to limit the numbers of times 1 person can give rep to the same person per day, not sure if Bob’s software can do that. It would fix “angry rep votes”

I don’t understand. Maybe I missed some of the zings and slaps that were going on.

I was accused of many terrible things, things I didn’t do, over on LSOL, and I stayed there until the end. One moderator kept sending me nasty grams for almost every post I made on LSOL, and I stayed, and posted.

Seeing HJ go, and seeing Boomer go, I just have to wonder if more was going on then I was aware of. I hope that we, as a group, can start working together, so no more people have to leave because of hurt feelings or perceived insults or whatever. After all, we are not children anymore, we should be able to work out our differences in a more mature way.

That being said, I am going to go, get into my PJs, cuddle with my teddy and take my nap now. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-sealed.gif)

Mark,

Bob McCown has already said that he alone sees every reputation entry. So Bob would put a stop to it if he saw that you were overloading the rep grid!

Maybe we should have an Op/Ed page where folks can dump and then, after 24 hours, the page gets dumped before it’s posted.

I kind of liked the idea to “expire” old rep points, but not just the negatives, but the positives too.

That would seem to take care of “fluctuations” that were short term / transitory.

I don’t care myself, I know my negatives were meant to be punitive, not saying I don’t know what I am talking about.

I have a significant amount of “back channel” communications where people let me know their feelings, good and bad. Funny though, since Aristo has gone, I seem to have a lot fewer “enemies”. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Yer just not tryin’ hard enough, any more, Greg.

That brought a good chuckle Steve! Thanks!

Greg

Greg, you and I both know that some folks just “cant handle the truth”. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-sealed.gif)
